Dorien Wilson Wiki Biography

Dorien Wilson is an actor born on 5th July 1963 in New Jersey, USA, probably best known for his roles in TV sitcoms such as “The Parkers” and “Sister, Sister”. His other notable appearances include “The Steve Harvey Show”, and the short-lived sitcom “Goode Behavior”.

Have you ever wondered how rich Dorien Wilson is? According to sources it has been estimated that Dorien Wilson’s overall net worth is $12 million, acquired largely through a versatile acting career which he started at the beginning of the ‘90s. Since he is still very active in the entertainment industry, his net worth continues to grow.

As a child, Dorien moved a lot with his family as his father was a member of the US Air Force. After some time, the family settled in the small city of Lompoc, California, where Wilson started school and eventually became interested in acting during his schooling at Cabrillo and Lompoc high schools. Upon finishing high school, he enrolled at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria. In addition, Dorien studied acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. His first job upon graduation was as a drama teacher, but Wilson also began appearing in various local productions such as the musical “Carousel”, the play “Hank Williams: The King of Country Music”, musical “Dreamgirls”, “The Tempest” and many others, all of which contributd steadily to his net worth.

Eventually, as his acting career took off, he moved to San Francisco where he began landing television roles including in the hit TV series “Murphy Brown”(1993). After moving back to Los Angeles again, Wilson was rewarded with the role of Eddie Charles in “Dream On”, which brought him recognition and fame among the public. His next television project involved shows “Goode Behavior” in which starred next to Sherman Hemsley, and “The Parkers” – a sitcom in which his positive portrayal was nominated for an Image Award. In both shows, Dorian portrayed the characters of college professors, and these roles further increased his popularity and made him a true television star, recognized throughout the US. His net worth benefited too.

Apart from his theatre and TV series experience, Dorien has also appeared in several films, such as “Beethoven’s 4th”, “You Got Served” and “House Party 4”. His other notable appearances have been in some of the biggest comedy hits of the ‘90s, including “Friends” in which he played Chandler’s boss, and “Seinfeld”.

Thanks to his appealing looks, which earned him a lot of female fans, Wilson was featured in the Alaye publishing company’s 2004 calendar and in Ebony magazine’s “Best Bachelors of the Year” feature. More recently, Dorien has returned to TV sitcoms, playing roles in “Bella and the Bulldogs” and “In the Cut”, which both aired during 2015.

When it comes to his private life, there isn’t a great deal of information known to the public, however, he was married to his long-time girlfriend, JoAnn, for several years but the two eventually split up after having two children.
