Donyell Lamar Marshall was born on 18 May 1973, in Reading, Pennsylvania USA, and is a basketball coach, formerly a professional basketball player, known for playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for eight teams throughout his playing career from 1994 until 2009. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

Donyell attended Reading High School and after matriculating, went to the University of Connecticut. He joined the basketball program of the university and would eventually become the Big East Player of the Year in the 1993 season.

He then left school to join the 1994 NBA Draft, and was selected the fourth overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played 40 games with the Timberwolves during his rookie season before he was traded to the Golden State Warriors, for whom he played from 1995 to 2000 when he was traded to the Utah Jazz. He then played with John Stockton and Karl Malone as part of the Jazz, before in 2002 becoming a free agent. He was quickly signed by the Chicago Bulls, playing with such as Jalen Rose, and his net worth continued to increase.

The following year he was then traded to the Toronto Raptors. He tied Kobe Bryant’s NBA record of 12 three-point field goals in 2005, after two years with the Raptors. After his contract ended, he then signed for four years with the Cleveland Cavaliers which increased his net worth further. The team was trying to build around LeBron James, and Marshall was instrumental in the team’s win in the 2007 Eastern Conference semifinals, and reached the finals against the San Antonio Spurs that season. In 2008, he was traded to the Seattle Supersonics, but when the team moved to Oklahoma he was waived, and subsequently played one more season with the Philadelphia 76ers before retiring.

Following retirement from playing, he worked as a post-game live analyst for Comcast Sportsnet in 2009, but left a year later to become the assistant coach of the George Washington Colonials. The following year, he became the assistant coach of the Maine Red Claws D-League team, then in 2013 moved to Rider University to work as an assistant coach. After a successful season there, he became the assistant of the University at Buffalo, obviously successfully because in 2016 he became the head coach of Central Connecticut State.

His record for three point field goals made in a game continues to be tied with Kobe Bryant and Stephen Curry. His number was honored at the University of Connecticut during a Huskies of Honor ceremony.
