She has been an active member of the entertainment industry since 1980.
Have you ever wondered how rich Debra Jo Rupp, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of Debra’s net worth is equal to $5 million. Her career as a movie actress has earned her a big part of her wealth over time. Additionally, Debra has appeared in several TV series and shows, as well as in numerous theatre productions which have also added to her net worth.
Debra Jo Rupp was raised in Boxford, Massachusetts, where she attended Masconomet Regional High School. She always wanted to be an actress, but her parents were firmly opposed to the idea, so they sent her to the University of Rochester, at least in one part because it offered no theatre classes. However, she found a small theatre club and venue entitled “Drama House” on campus, and she became an active member. She graduated from the University with a BA degree in Arts in 1974, and then left her home state of Massachusetts and moved to New York City in order to pursue a career in acting.
Subsequently, Debra started performing frequently both on stage and in commercials, accumulating stage and TV credits before winning her first television role in 1980 as topless dancer Sheila in the daytime drama “All My Children”. A notable stage performance at this time was as Eleanor in the 1985 production of “The Middle Ages” at the Whole Theatre Company in Montclair, New Jersey. Her debut movie appearance was in “Big” (1988), portraying Tom Hanks’ secretary Miss Patterson. She debuted on Broadway in the 1990 revival of “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof”. All these endeavors contributed consistently to her net worth.
In 1995, Debra was chosen to appear in several TV and film titles, such as “The Office”, “ER”, and “The Jeff Foxworthy Show” (1995-1996). During 1996 she appeared in the role of Mrs. Hall in the film “Sgt. Bilko”, and in the following year, she began featuring in the TV series “Friends” until 1998. Yet, 1998 may be marked as the peak of her career as she began playing, some would say, the role of her life – Kitty Forman in the famous sitcom “That ‘70s Show” (1998-2006). All of these appearances added a considerable amount to her net worth.
The new millennium didn’t change too much for her, as she continued to line up success after success, appearing in such titles as “Lucky 13” (2005), “She’s Out of My League” (2010), and “The Opposite Sex” (2014). Debra’s most recent appearances are in the TV series “He’s With me” in 2015 and in the 2016 romantic comedy “Fair Market Value”, and she is to appear in the comedy “Pearl” (2016). Her net worth is certainly still rising.
Throughout her career, Debra became one of the audience’s and critics’ favorite comediennes and therefore was nominated for and won a great number of awards, such as nominations for the best actress in a new comedy series for her role in “That ‘70s Show” and the best guest actress for her role in “He’s With Me”. Furthermore, she received praise from Walter Goodman in a New York Times review of one of her many off-Broadway performances.
Regarding Debra Jo Rupp’s personal life, there is no information about it in the media, except that she has apparently never married, and divides her time between residences is in Los Angeles, California, and Lee, Massachusetts. She is known for being a Methodist.
