David Lou Bega Wiki Biography
Lou Bega was born as David Lubega on 13th April 1975, in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, and is a mambo musician, singer and songwriter, probably best known for his international hit “Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of…)”. Bega is particularly recognized for his combination of the 1940s and 1950s musical styles, and the modern beats and grooves. He has won numerous awards and was also nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1999. Bega’s career started in 1988.
Have you ever wondered how rich Lou Bega is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Bega’s net worth is as high as $1 million, an amount earned through his successful career in music. In addition to releasing five studio albums, Bega’s live performances have been quite lucrative, and have helped him to improve his wealth.
Lou Bega is a son of a Ugandan father and Italian mother, and he grew up in Italy and Germany, where his father studied biology at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Bega went to a German primary school, and later travelled to Miami, Florida and briefly lived in Uganda.
When he was 13, Lou founded a hip-hop group, but then he signed a recording contract with the label Lautstark. In 1999, Bega’s debut album called “A Little Bit of Mambo” was released, which peaked at No.3 on the Billboard 200 and achieved triple-platinum status in the US alone, but with over 10 million sales worldwide. The success of the album in itself made Bega a millionaire, and so significantly increased his net worth, while the single “Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of…)” topped the charts in over 20 countries, securing him a Grammy nomination in the process, along with other notable awards, and a large increase in his net worth.
In 2001 Bega recorded his second studio album ,“Ladies and Gentlemen”, but it failed to repeat the success of its predecessor, as it went relatively unnoticed. His next album, “Lounatic” (2005) also didn’t chart in any official national music chart, and neither did “Free Again” in 2010. Most recently, Bega has released “A Little Bit of 80’s”, the album consisting of covers of classic hits such as “I’m So Excited” (1982) (The Pointer Sisters), “Red Red Wine” (1968) (Neil Diamond), “Smooth Operator” (1984)” (Sade), “Vamos a la playa” (1983) (Righeira), and “Karma Chameleon” (1983) (Culture Club); this was much more successful, and has contributed significantly to Bega’s net worth.
Bega has given numerous live performances too, including in such cities as Tokyo, Moscow, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, and the United Arab Emirates. He has also appeared on TV in such programs as “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “The Martin Short Show”, “Access Hollywood”, “Ally McBeal”, “Motown Live”, and “Queen Latifah” among others, also adding somewhat to his wealthRegarding his personal life, in 2014 Lou Bega married his longtime girlfriend, Jenieva Jane, with whom he has a daughter. The family currently resides in Berlin, Germany.
