David Hasselhoff Wiki Biography
David Michael Hasselhoff, commonly known as David Hasselhoff, is a famous American singer, film and television producer, businessman, as well as an actor. David Hasselhoff rose to prominence in the 1980s, when he played the main role of Michael Knight in Glen A. Larson’s television series called “Knight Rider”, which focused on a modern crime fighter and detective Knight, who was technically enhanced after a fatal accident. The series first aired in 1982, and became a huge hit among its audiences. The show also remained so popular years after its last season aired on screens, that it inspired several sequels, namely “Code of Vengeance”, “Knight Rider 2000” and “Knight Rider 2010”, a spin-off series called “Team Knight Rider”, a film adaptation, as well as various video games, toys, and vehicles.
When he finished filming for “Knight Rider”, David Hasselhoff returned to television screens in 1989, when he played the role of Mitch Butchannon, a lifeguard in the popular action drama series known as “Baywatch”. Even though the show was cancelled after only airing one season, it later turned out to be a commercial success, both in the United States and abroad, which resulted in the release of 10 more seasons. It featured such actors as Jeremy Jackson, Michael Newman, Pamela Anderson Lee, Alexandra Paul and Richard Jaeckel to name a few. “Baywatch” finished its 11 season run in 2001, yet it returned to television screens in 2003 with a reunion movie called “Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding”, where Hasselhoff reprised the role of Butchannon.
A famous actor, how rich is David Hasselhoff? According to sources, David Hasselhoff’s net worth is estimated to be $110 million. David Hasselhoff has accumulated most of his net worth and wealth due to his acting career.
David Hasselhoff was born in 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, however he spent most of his childhood in Georgia, where he studied at the Marist High School. He then enrolled in the Lyons Township High School, where he played volleyball, and took part in various school plays. Later, Hasselhoff graduated with a degree from the California Institute of the Arts.
One of Hasselhoff’s very first roles was in William J. Bell’s soap opera called “The Young and the Restless”, where he played the character of Dr. William Foster Jr. Hasselhoff later landed a role in Luigi Cozzi’s sci-fi film called “Starcrash” and shortly afterwards was cast to portray Michael Knight in “Knight Rider”. As Hasselhoff’s fame began to grow steadily, it was not difficult for him to receive an offer to play the lead role in “Baywatch” several years after the ending of “Knight Rider”. Later in his career, Hasselhoff made appearances in such shows as “America’s Got Talent” with Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne, “WWE Raw”, “Dancing with the Stars”, and “Britain’s Got Talent” to name a few. Hasselhoff’s contributions to the industry have been awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which he received in 1996.

David Hasselhoff Quotes
- Susan (Boyle) is responsible for bringing the world together.
- [on his name] I think God has a sense of humor, because they wanted me to change it; I was going to change it one time to David Michaels. But then I found out there was already a David Michaels. I took so much heat for the name growing up. I’m gonna keep it because I was proud of my parents. It’s kind of pathetic because Hasselhoff has turned into The Hoff and The Hoff is keeping Hasselhoff out of work. But The Hoff’s paying the bills.
- [2012, on the possibility of a remake of the Knight Rider series] If you don’t make it retro and you don’t appeal to the people that love the show, it’s not going to be Knight Rider.
- That’s kind of a double-edged sword. My daughter lives in Atlanta and they are allowed to carry guns in their cars. It’s like the Wild West there. If there’s a gun around, I believe you are going to use it. I think it’s really dangerous to have a gun in your house, so I would never, never have a gun in my house.
- I find it a bit sad that there is no photo of me hanging on the walls in the Berlin Museum at Checkpoint Charlie.
- Beyond its entertainment value, Baywatch (1989) has enriched and, in many ways, helped save lives. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to continue with a project which has had such significance for so many.
- (on the cancellation of Baywatch (1989)) The reaction was, “Been there done that. Eleven years is enough. It’s not the same show.” I wasn’t really happy with the direction the show was going.
