To begin with, Craig is the son of Tina and George David. He grew up in the area of Holyrood, but his parents divorced when he was eight, with custody rights to his mother. He attended Bellemoor School, and then graduated from Southampton City College. Passionate about music, David began composing his first songs at the age of 14.

Initially, Craig worked as a DJ in a local radio station, and in a bar. Then David participated in the creation of “B-sides” (1997) for the popular British band Damage, and working on a cover of the song “Wonderful Tonight”, which reached 3rd place on the UK music charts. In 1999, the musician in the band Artful Dodger he released two singles – “What Ya Gonna Do” and “Re-Rewind”. The latter quickly became a great hymn of all independent clubs, and was one of the best selling singles in 1999 in the UK, paving the way for Craig’s solo career, and the rise of his net worth.

After the huge success of this recording, David signed to Wildstar and began recording songs solo. The same year, he released his debut single, “Fill Me In” making him the youngest male solo artist whose song reached the top position in the UK. This was also the first of four singles, which were placed on the top 10 singles chart in the UK; all of them were listed in his debut album called “Born To Do It” (2000), which eventually sold over seven million copies worldwide, winning multiple platinum status in more than 20 countries. “Slicker than Your Average” was the second album published in 2002, and has sold 3,700,000 copies worldwide, just over 500,000 in the UK, but none of the singles positioned on the Billboard 200.
