A popular “Survivor” contestant, how rich is Colby Donaldson? According to sources, Donaldson’s fortune reaches $1.4 million, as of early 2017. His net worth has been acquired through his involvement in the entertainment industry.
Donaldson grew up in Texas, along with his older brother, where he attended Texas Tech University, obtaining a degree in Business Marketing. He then started to work as a sales representative at an HMO carrier, but eventually left the company to start his own welding business.
He rose to prominence in 2000, when he became a member of the second season of the popular CBS competitive reality television series “Survivor”, entitled “Survivor: The Australian Outback”. Striving hard throughout the competition, Donaldson eventually won the final immunity challenge, choosing Tina Wesson for the Final 2. With Wesson becoming the Sole Survivor, he finished in the second place. The show enabled him to reach a decent level of popularity and recognition. His participation in it earned him a good income too.
Donaldson decided to return to the show in 2003, for its eighth season entitled “Survivor: All-Stars”. Being the seventh contestant eliminated from the competition, he was one of the runners up in the show’s public voting to award a second million-dollar prize, being voted by an online poll as the ‘sexiest male castaway’.
Donaldson then appeared in the 20th season of “Survivor” franchise, titled “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” in 2010. Finding less success and performing surprisingly weaker in the show’s challenges, he was voted out on Day 37. However, his participation in three seasons of the “Survivor” show put Donaldson on the map, greatly contributing to his popularity, plus in the vote for most attractive male contestant, he came second. Aside from shooting him to fame and improving his wealth, the show paved his was into an acting career.
After his participation in “Survivor: The Australian Outback”, he began to land television gigs, making guest appearances in the series “Just Shoot Me!” and “Reba”, and appearing in the TV film “Another Pretty Face”. Following his second stint in “Survivor”, Donaldson appeared as a guest in series such as “Good Girls Don’t…”, “The Young and the Restless”, “JAG” and “8 Simple Rules” and landed the recurring role as Gunnar in the sitcom “Joey”. All added to his net worth. He went on to make his debut on the big screen in 2005, with a minor role as a bodyguard in the mystery thriller “Red Eye”. He followed this with a variety of television appearances, such as in the popular series “Las Vegas” and “Bones”, further expanding his fame and fortune.
Finishing his third “Survivor” stint in 2010, Donaldson became the host of the History Channel reality television show “Top Shot”, featuring contestants competing in various types of shooting challenges. Two years later he hosted the show’s spin-off called “Top Guns”, so Donaldson’s hosting career reinforced his status in the entertainment world and significantly contributed to his net worth as well.
When it comes to his private life, Donaldson has only been married to Britt Bailey since 2016.
