Christine Lagarde Quotes

  • [on Mario Draghi, Europe’s central banker] His down-to-earth approach and keen sense of humor conceal a formidable will and the courage to take on skeptics for the good of the currency – and the continent. He is among the most astute of technocrats.
  • The financial industry is a service industry. It should serve others before it serves itself.
  • I’m very much a believer that it’s action that matters much more so than the flurry of political promises and statements and slogans that are used during political campaigns.
  • I think more of the little kids in a little village in Niger who get teaching two hours a day, sharing one chair for the three of them, and who are keen to get an education. I have them in mind all the time. Because I think they need even more help than the people in Athens.
