From a young age Chris was interested in music. While being a student at Rollins College, Kirkpatrick belonged to a group called Doo Wop. Later Chris met Lou Pearlman, who suggested forming a group, and after searching for other members, the group ‘N Sync was formed, comprising of Chris, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez, which became a great success. During its active years from 1995, they performed with such stars as Left Eye, Aerosmith, Elton John, Britney Spears, Nelly, Phil Collins, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson and many others. ‘N Sync has released 3 albums; *NSYNC, Celebrity and No Strings Attached, and the  success of the group made Kirkpatrick’s net worth rise considerably. What is more, while being a part of this group, Chris and others were nominated for many awards: Record of the Year, Best Pop vocal Album, Teen Choice Award, MTV Video Music Awards and many others. The group broke-up in 2002, but reunited in 2013 to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards.

In 2008 Chris became a part of the show called Gone Country; which also contributed to Chris’ net worth. For this show he had to compose and perform a song; Chris participated together with Mikalah Gordon, Lorenzo Lamas, Sean Young and others, and Kirkpatrick created the song entitled That’ll Get Ya By. Although Chris was not able to win, he was praised by the show’s host, John Rich, and also proved that he could be very successful without other ‘N Sync members.
