Born Christopher Ken “Chris” Cooley on the 11th July 1982 in Powell, Wyoming USA, he is a retired American Football player, who played in the tight end position for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). His career was active from 2004 until 2012; he tried unsuccessfully to return to the field in 2015.

He continued successfully in the next three years, with over 700 yards in each of them, and setting his own record for 849 yards from 83 receptions, and having eight touchdowns. Thanks to his great performance, Redskins offered him a contract worth $30 million over six years in 2007, which significantly increased his net worth. In the 2009 season he broke his ankle and played in only seven games which was enough for 332 yards from 29 receptions and two touchdowns.He managed to recover and in 2010 posted his best career figures, recording 849 yards from 77 receptions, and also had three touchdowns. He spent one more season as a Redskin, playing in eight games, before he decided to retire.

After retirement he became a radio broadcaster for the Redskins, and hosts “Cooley & Kevin” with Kevin Sheenan.
He had majored in arts at Utah State University, and has opened an art gallery in Leesburg.
