At just 17 years of age, she already has an estimated net worth of $600,000. Through her relatively short career, she has already attained such wealth through her acting and singing career.
McClain was born into a family of artists. Her father, Michael McClain is a music producer; her mother, Shontelle, is a songwriter, while her sisters, Sierra and Lauryn, are also singers. The youngest, George, can also sing and dance at four years of age. Along with her sisters, they formed the singing group “McClain”, and released their first single “Silly Games” under her father’s production company GabesWorld Music, named after their younger brother. She was first discovered by music executive and family friend, Ian Burke, singing over dinner. She was encouraged to audition and eventually landed a role in the film “The Gospel”, in which her two sisters also appeared in a scene. Her acting in the movie earned her another role in Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne”, in which she played the character Jasmine Payne. These activities were the start of building her net worth.
China Ann then guest starred in other shows such as “NCIS” and Disney Channel shows “Hannah Montana”, “Jonas” and “Wizards of Waverly Place”. She was also part of the films “A Dennis the Menace Christmas”, “Hurricane Season”, “Grown Ups”, “Grown Ups 2”, and “Daddy’s Little Girls”, with her two sisters, and she also lent her voice to the film “Bilal”. Her big break came when she was cast in the lead role of Chyna Parks in TV Disney’s “A.N.T. Farm”, which ran for three seasons from 2011 to 2014, providing a considerable boost to her net worth.
After the show ended, McClain made other TV appearances in the series “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour”, “Bones”, and “Descendants: The Wicked World” in which she voiced the character Freddie, and the TV movie “How to Build a Better Boy”.
As well as helping her net worth rise, her acting has earned her a total of three nominations- Outstanding Performance in a Youth/Children’s Program -Series or Special (Image Award) twice for her role in “A.N.T. Farm” and “How to Build a Better Boy”, and three awards- Best Performance – Comedy (Vision Award) both for “House of Payne” and “A.N.T. Farm”, and has also recorded the songs “Calling All Monsters” and “Dynamite” by Taio Cruz for the show as well as a promotional single entitled “Something Real”.
