Have you ever wondered how rich Cheryl Tiegs is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Tiegs’ net worth is as high as $14 million, an amount earned through her successful career as a model. In addition to being quite relevant in the pop culture of the ‘70s as a model, Tiegs also appeared in several TV series and movies which improved her wealth.

Cheryl Tiegs is a daughter of Phyllis and Theodore Tiegs, who worked as a funeral director. At the age of five, Tiegs’ family moved to Alhambra, California, where she went to the Alhambra High School. She launched her modelling career while still at high school when posed for a swimsuit ad, and it appeared in the teenager’s magazine called Seventeen in 1964. Although enrolled at the California State University, Los Angeles with major in English, Cheryl decided to drop out and pursue a modelling career instead.

Also in 1964, Tiegs was spotted by the editorial staff of the women’s magazine Glamour, and they booked her a photo-shoot in Saint Thomas. The session secured her a Glamour cover, and later that year, Cheryl made the cover of Elle. Among other notable magazines in her early career, Tiegs appeared on the covers of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and was the first model to appear twice in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, but her second time in 1978 will be remembered as she posed in a fishnet swimsuit.

By the end of the ‘70s, Tiegs made it to the covers of People and TIME, before signing a $1.5 million, two-year contract with Cover Girl cosmetics, the biggest contract in her career at the time, which only increased her net worth. In 1979, she went to Kenya with photographer Peter Beard as a member of the expedition that documented the destruction of African wildlife, and helped to spread the awareness of the problem. Several magazines covered the story, but the LOOK’s story en titled “Cheryl Tiegs: The New African Queen” was among the notable ones.

In 1980, Tiegs founded a signature line of clothing and accessories for Sears, and the retail venture earned her plenty of money, significantly increasing her net worth in the process. Also in 1980, Tiegs published her book “The Way to Natural Beauty”. She continued to be an active businesswoman, as she launched “Cheryl Tiegs Sportwear” in 1995, and later developed a line of wigs and hair accessories for Revlon – all contributed to her net worth.

In addition to being a model and entrepreneur, Tiegs has appeared in numerous TV series and movies including Vincent Gallo’s “The Brown Bunny” (2003), and “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” (2007) starring John C. Reilly. Most recently, she played in “Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens” (2016), alongside Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, and Masiela Lusha. Cheryl made numerous guest appearances in “The Oprah Winfrey Show” from 1995 to 2011, and was a participant in “The Apprentice” in 2012. Tiegs also worked as a host of the travel adventure series called “Pathfinders: Exotic Journeys” for the Travel Channel, and was a judge on the ABC reality show “True Beauty”, which also added to her net worth.

Regarding her personal life, Cheryl Tiegs was married to advertising executive Stan Dragoti from 1970 to 1978, to photographer Peter Beard from 1981 to 1983, to actor Anthony Peck from 1990 to 1994, and yoga instructor Rod Stryker from 1998 to 2001. She has three sons: Zachary, with Peck, and twins who were delivered via surrogacy while in marriage with Stryker. Tiegs currently resides in Bel Air, California.

  • I will not remarry. I’m so grateful for the marriages that I have had. I wouldn’t be who I am today if I hadn’t had those. I’ve had four amazing men in my life, very strong, powerful, wonderful men. I certainly will have a relationship with someone but I don’t think I will get married again.
