Charles Philip Arthur George Wiki Biography
Charles Philip Arthur George, to give him his complete birth name, was born on the 14th November, 1948 in Buckingham Palace, London, UK. He is the Prince of Wales, the first in line of succession to the throne after Queen Elizabeth II. He is also recognized as Duke of Cornwall in South-West England and as Duke of Rothesay in Scotland. Prince Charles is the oldest and longest serving heir apparent in the entire history of England, having been ‘in waiting’ since 1952.
So just how rich is Prince Charles, as of late 2017? Authoritative sources estimate that the Prince of Wales is a very wealthy person, having a net worth of over $1.35 billion. It has been reported that he earned more than $31.3 million from his estates in 2016, which is his ‘salary’, as he does not draw a stipend from the public purse. His assets include the $1.1 billion valued Duchy of Cornwall estate, and other properties.
Prince was born to parents Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth II; his grandparents were Queen Elizabeth and King George VI. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun Schools, and also at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School which is located in Victoria, Australia. In 1970, he graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in archaeology, anthropology and history, following which in accordance with family tradition, he served in Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy from 1971 to1977, qualifying and serving as a helicopter pilot, and commanding the minehunter HMS Bronington before leaving the service. He later flew aircraft of the Queen’s Flight, but gave up flying after an accident in 1994.
Prince Charles has a variety of social and humanitarian interests. He is the founder of The Prince’s Trust charity foundation (1976–present) which supports mostly disadvantaged young people over a large range of training programs. He has actually established over 16 foundations, and in addition, he supports and donates to other charitable organizations, and the Prince even serves as a president of honour in many of them.
Furthermore, Charles supports organic farming and tries to attract public attention to climate change. The Prince also takes care of historical buildings, and his efforts to support nature conservation, organic farming and gardening have been recognized through numerous awards, including Global Environmental Citizen Award 2007, National Agricultural Award 2010, Teddy Roosevelt International Conservation Award 2015 and many others. Additionally he is an advocate of alternative medicine, although that remains a private chain of thought.
Prince Charles is also a recipient of various titles, honorary appointments, decorations, and awards, some as the heir apparent to the throne.
Regarding the less-than-private life of Prince Charles, he is known to have married twice. His first wife was Lady Diana Spencer, known as Diana, Princess of Wales, who gave birth to two sons: Prince William, Duke of Cambridge was born in 1982 and Prince Henry of Wales in 1984. Charles and Diana divorced after their love affairs were widely discussed and made public in 1996. Diana was involved in a car crash a year later, which resulted of multiple injuries from which she died. High attention was paid to the second marriage of Prince Charles; in 2005, he married Camilla Parker Bowles who now has the title of Duchess of Cornwall. Prince Charles now has two grandchildren born to William and his wife Kate – Prince George of Cambridge born in 2013 and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge born in 2015. The Prince and Camilla’s official residence is Clarence House in London, and he has two private homes, at Birkhall near Balmoral Castle in Scotland, and Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

Charles Philip Arthur George Quotes
- [to the Minister of the Environment] I particularly hope that the illegal fishing of the Patagonian toothfish will be high on your list of priorities, because until the trade is stopped, there is little hope for the poor old albatross.
- [on Bob Geldof] He has missed his vocation in life. He should have been a general.
- At the end of the day, the primary purpose of capitalism should surely be to serve the wider long-term interests and concerns of humanity rather than the other way around.
- [on the similarities between Baroness Thatcher and Joan of Arc] Both strong women, possessed of an unshakeable righteous zeal, and both, ultimately, burnt by the English.
- It is baffling, I must say, that in our modern world we have such blind trust in science and technology that we all accept what science tells us about everything – until, that is, it comes to climate science. All of a sudden, and with a barrage of sheer intimidation, we are told by powerful groups of deniers that the scientists are wrong and we must abandon all our faith in so much overwhelming scientific evidence.
- [on climate change sceptics] The headless chicken brigade.
- [at the death of the Queen Mother, in 2002] Oh, how I shall miss her laugh and wonderful wisdom. Ever since I was a child I adored her. She was quite simply the most magical grandmother you could possibly have.
- That’s called a microphone. It’s a big sausage that picks up everything you say – and you’re starting early.
- I sometimes wonder if two thirds of the globe is covered in red carpet.
- I learned the way a monkey learns – by watching its parents.
- I believe passionately that everyone has a particular God-given ability.
- Hong Kong has created one of the most successful societies on Earth.
- Do you seriously expect me to be the first Prince of Wales in history not to have a mistress?
- Your greatest achievement is to love me.
- I’d rather go by bus.
- All the time I feel I must justify my existence.
- Father told me that if I ever met a lady in a dress like yours, I must look her straight in the eyes.
- You have to give this much to the Luftwaffe: when it knocked down our buildings it did not replace them with anything more offensive than rubble. We did that.
- Something as curious as the monarchy won’t survive unless you take account of people’s attitudes. After all, if people don’t want it, they won’t have it.
- We would never comment on private correspondence.
- The whole imposing edifice of modern medicine is like the celebrated tower of Pisa – slightly off balance.
- [on environmental issues, 2013] I don’t want to be confronted by my future grandchild and have them say, ‘Why didn’t you do something?’ It makes it ever more obvious to try and make sure we leave them something that isn’t a total poisoned chalice.
- It seems to me that music is a fascinating phenomenon because, on the one hand, it is a truly universal language that knows no barriers of origin, creed or circumstance, and therefore has the capacity to engage us all. On the other, its expression and enjoyment is entirely personal, and so often the memory of a particular piece of music is bound up with an event in our lives.
