Chamillionaire Wiki Biography
Hakeem Seriki, to the audience known by his stage name of Chamillionaire, is a famous American rap artist, music executive, entrepreneur, songwriter, as well as a record producer. Chamillionaire is perhaps best known as the founder of a hip hop group called “The Color Changin’ Click”, which was also joined by Paul Wall, Yung Ro, Lew Hawk, Rasaq and 50/50 Lil’ Twin. With the group, Chamillionaire released several mixtapes, including “Ace Ventura”, “Homer Pimpson” and “Deuce Bigalow” before “The Color Changin’ Click” split up in 2005. Chamillionaire, together with a fellow group member Paul Wall debuted in the music industry in 2002, with the release of their album entitled “Get Ya Mind Correct”. The album proved to be a huge commercial success, as it topped the Billboard music charts and managed to sell more than 150,000 copies without any support from major record labels.
Chamillionaire’s debut studio album called “The Sound of Revenge” was released several years later under the “Universal Records” label. “The Sound of Revenge” managed to spawn three singles, namely “Turn It Up”, “Ridin” and “Grown and Sexy”, as well as featuring guest appearances from such rap artists as Lil Wayne, Bun B, Lil Flip, Krayzie Bone and Billy Cook. During the first two weeks, Chamillionaire’s album managed to sell more than 800,000 copies in the United States and by the end of the year increased the number of record sales to 1.5 million, which earned him a Platinum certification from the RIAA. “The Sound of Revenge” established Chamillionaire as one of the most popular rappers in the industry.
