Chad Hugo Wiki Biography
Charles Edward “Chad” Hugo is a multi-instrumentalist and record producer, born on 24th February 1974 in Portsmouth, Virginia USA. Chad is most famous for being one of “The Neptunes” music production/writing duo and as a part of the rock, funk and hip-hop group “N.E.R.D.”. Hugo has produced various hit tracks wit Pharrell Williams, his longtime partner. Hugo plays saxophone, piano and guitar.
Have you ever wondered how rich Chad Hugo is? According to sources it is estimated that Chad Hugo’s overall net worth is $55 million. Chad has accumulated his net worth mostly by producing many no.1 hits along with Pharrell Williams. Chad’s membership in the “N.E.R.D.” group has also significantly added to his net worth.
Chad was born to Filipino parents in South Hampton Roads, Portsmouth, Virginia, where he spent his childhood. He met his peer and later partner, Pharrell Williams, at an early age, when the two were attending a summer camp organized by the school for The Gifted and Talented. Their friendship and mutual interest towards music continued, and eventually resulted in their collaboration by playing together in several bands and mixing different beats, a modest start to his net worth.
Hugo’s early career consisted of sporadic productions for other artists, who were frequently associated with Teddy Riley. After founding “The Neptunes” in the early 1990s, the group gained popularity by writing songs and producing music for artists like “N.O.R.E” and “Mystikal”, and later produced for big names like Jay-Z. All of this led to Hugo signing a deal with BMG Music Publishing, with “The Neptunes” being named Producers of the Year in 2002, at both The Source Awards and the Billboard Music Awards. The duo released “The Neptunes Presents…Clones” album a year later, which reached number one, further helping Chad’ds net worth to grow
However, Hugo proved himself as a successful independent producer as well, especially after producing the “New Sacred Cow” album for “Kenna” in 2003. His collaboration with this musician continued when Chad did the majority of the production on “Kenna’s” 2007 album “Make Sure They See My Face” and his EP “Land 2 Air Chronicles I- Chaos and The Darkness” in 2011, which all increased Hugo’s net worth. Another one of his career projects began in 2011, along with Daniel Biltmore, when they created “Missile Command”, a DJ duo team which later signed a deal with “Fool’s Gold Records” to release their music. Apart from this, Chad created an alternative band with Paul Banks by the name “No Planes In Space”, thus notably increasing his net worth.
Chad’s more recent work includes producing albums for various artists. Once again collaborating with Kenna, Hugo produced this artist’s new EP “Land 2 Air Chronicles II: Imitation Is Suicide” which was released in September 2013. The same year, he worked with Malaysian artist “Yuna”, for one of her songs on the “Nocturnal” album. In 2014, Chad worked with numerous artists such as “Red Velvet”, DJ Qbert, “Kid Sister”, and releasing remixes for Graph Gonzales’ “Heartbreaker”, “Little Dragons”, “Killing Me”, ”St. Vincents” and “Digital Witness”. Hugo reunited with “N.E.R.D” in 2015 to contribute three songs to “The SpongeBob Movie 2: Sponge Out Of Water OST”. He also teamed up with Pharrell Williams for Snoop Dogg’s album “Bush”. Clearly Chad’s net worth continues to grow.
Rumor had it that Chad Hugo is gay, due to his appearances with unknown men in public. But, after introducing his wife Rachel(m. 1996) to the public in one of his videos, the speculations were seen as false. They have three children and lead a very private family life.
