American basketball player Carmelo Anthony was born on 29 May 1984, in Brooklyn, New York City, to a father from Puerto Rico, and an African-American mother. He is a television producer, as well as an athlete, but is probably best known in his position of (a small) forward in the Denver Nuggets NBA team, where he played for almost eight years from 2003 ‘til 2011, since when he’s played for the New York Knicks.

However, apparently he couldn’t envisage the Nuggets going any further, so requested a trade, and was eventually granted his wish, to the New York Knicks in February 2011. His performances remained consistently high with the Knicks, but an NBA title still eludes him.

On a personal level, he has appeared in 10 All-Star games, and been an All-NBA Team member six times. He was the NBA Rookie Challenge MVP in 2004, and NBA Scoring Champion in 2013.
