Brian Urlacher Wiki Biography

Brian Keith Urlacher was born on 25th of May 1978 in Pasco, Washington, USA, and is a former American Football linebacker, known as one of the NFL’s most productive defensive players and one of the most popular players of the Chicago Bears team.

Have you ever wondered how rich Brian Urlacher is? According to sources, it has been estimated that Brian Urlacher’s overall net worth is $16 million, largely acquired thanks to a prosperous 13 year-long career, and numerous accomplishments. His playing style and talent earned him a good reputation, and assured him a constant enlargement of net worth.

Brian was born the second child in the family and was raised with his older sister, and younger brother in Lovington, New Mexico to where their mother moved after divorcing Urlacher’s father. Brian developed an interest in sports, and spent his youth playing football, basketball and even table tennis. He continued doing so while in Lovington High School, where he also trained in weight rooms, gaining strength and speed he would later need in his career. Constantly playing football for a high school team, Urlacher gained much experience and played in several positions, as a running back, return specialist, defensive back and wide receiver. Upon matriculation in 1996, Brian wanted to enroll Texas Tech University, but gave up the idea because the school didn’t offer him an athletic scholarship, so Urlacher went to the University of New Mexico instead, where he majored in criminology and played for the New Mexico Lobos football team. His years of playing for the college team lead to Urlacher’s professional growth and perfection, as he played on both offense and defense, which led to him becoming one of the team’s most productive players in this period. Brian was one of the finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award after the 1999 season, and received All-American honors from Walter Camp Football Writers Association of America.

Urlacher was considered one of the more talented prospects in the 2000 NFL Draft, and it was the Chicago Bears, in need of a defensive playmaker, who decided to take him in the first round, which led to Urlacher signing a five-year contract worth almost $8 million, a significant start to his net worth. Brian proved to be an excellent middle linebacker, and won the league’s Rookie Defensive Player of the Month in October 2000. Numerous news organizations such as The Sporting News and the Associated Press named him the 2000 Defensive Rookie of the Year. His success continued to grow throughout the next season, when he was one of the team’s most productive playmakers, making himself a candidate for the 2001 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award.

After two years of incredible success, the team faced three average years, during which Brian experienced several injuries. However, in 2005 Urlacher won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and was also selected for the 2006 Pro Bowl but had to decline due to injury. The team’s big comeback continued through the 2006 season, during which Urlacher played some of his best football. Inspite of his injuries, Brian finished the following season on a high note, but had to undergo minor neck surgery.

During the off season, he renewed his contract with the Bears for another four years. In 2012, he was awarded the Ed Block Courage Award as a confirmation of his commitment and courage. A year later, he became an unrestricted free agent and the Bears declared that he would not return as they failed to agree on a contract. Later that year, Brian announced his retirement via his Twitter account, having been selected for eight Pro-Bowl games, but never making it to a Super Bowl.

Apart from his extraordinary sports career, Urlacher has also appeared in several commercials for famous brands, and worked as an analyst for Fox Sports 1.

When it comes to his personal life, Brian has two daughters from his marriage with Laurie Urlacher(2000-04) and a son with Tyna Robertson. He married Jennipher Frost in March 2016.
