Bijou Phillips Wiki Biography
Born in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut, on 1 April 1980, Bijou Phillips excels as a singer, model, and an actress and she is best known for her portrayal of the character, Lucy Carlyle in the successful TV series, ¨Raising Hope.¨ Before working her way up in the acting world, she worked as a model, establishing herself as the youngest person to appear on the cover of Italian Vogue when she was only 13!
So, what is Bijou Phillips´ net worth, as of early 2017? In her career thus far, Bijou has been able to amass an impressive net worth of $20 million, initially through her modeling career, including appearing in numerous ads for fashion house Calvin Klein. Then, she turned her attention to singing, releasing the album, ¨I´d Rather Eat Glass¨ in 1999, however, acting was always her true calling. Since making her debut in the 1999 film ¨Black and White,¨ and has gone on to star in over 20 movies thus far.
Her parents were also famous in their own right. Her father, John Philips, was a member of 1970s pop group The Mamas & the Papas, and her mother, Genevieve Waite, worked as a model, artist, and actress. Bijou Phillips took a huge decision when she was only 14, deciding to drop out of school and move into an apartment with a housekeeper. She was able to make such a bold decision because she was already earning from her modeling commitments. After moving out, Bijou started partying, drinking and taking drugs. She later explained her situation back in 2002, ¨If you were 14 years old and able to live on your own in an apartment in New York City, and you got invited to all these clubs, and you got a bank account and you had a car service you could call so that you could go wherever you wanted…what would happen?¨
Luckily, Bijou decided to clean up her act and pursue a career in acting, managing to strike a chord with audiences worldwide with the release of her first movie, ¨Black and White,¨ which received acclaim from film critics, and accolades from audiences in all corners of the world The pinnacle moment in her career arrived in 2000 upon the release of the musical drama, ¨Almost Famous.
Although the film actually bombed at the box office, Bijou´s performance in the movie moved audiences and critics alike, and she received four Academy Awards nominations! She has also been lauded for her performance in the 2007 film, ¨What We Do Is Secret.¨ Moving into TV as well, she starred in “Raising Hope” from 2010-13 in the recurring role of Lucy Carlyle, adding further to her net worth.
In her personal life, Bijou is married to the ¨That 70´s Show¨ actor, Danny Masterson. Both preachers of Scientology, the couple initially met at a poker tournament in Las Vegas in 2004, but didn’t marry until 2011, in a private castle in Ireland. Together, they share the responsibilities of being parents to their daughter, Fianna Frances Masterson. Bijou is currently waiting a possible kidney transplant – she was born with ultra-small kidneys which are an increasing problem.

Bijou Phillips Quotes
- “Bijou Phillips- you never knew what the f**k she would say or do next. There is no line between her unconscious and her articulation of it and her behavior. She is a genuine psychopath. I say that with affection and admiration, because she’s also incredibly smart and talented, so she knows how to amuse and how to get and hold attention. If she were just a psychopath, you wouldn’t want to use her; you’d just be bored. But she is always amusing and interesting and, if one thing isn’t working, she has a good sense of it, and she just starts on something else” – James Toback.
- On modeling: “It was like, I wanted to go swimming in the ocean, but I was jumping up and down in a puddle.”
- On being world-weary: “I never had innocence.”
- On music: “Music is real; it’s something you can touch and feel. It moves you – the bass literally shakes you and rocks you from the inside. Music makes your soul feel amazing while you’re performing it. It’s not air, it’s not wind, it’s not anything like that. It’s solid. It’s thick. It’s like summertime in New York.”
