Have you ever wondered how rich Benjamin Bratt is?A ccording to sources it has been estimated that Benjamin Bratt’s overall net worth is $12 million, acquired thanks to numerous rewarded roles in films and on television since the late ‘80s. Considering the fact he is still very active in the acting industry, his net worth will likely continue to grow.

Bratt grew up in San Francisco, the son of a Peruvian mother and an American father of German, English and Austrian descent. As a child he participated with his mother and siblings in the 1969 Native American occupation of Alcatraz, and is an active supporter of Native American causes to this day. He went to Lowell High School where he was a member of the Lowell Forensic Society. He later graduated with a BFA at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he was also a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Although he was accepted into the MFA program at the American Conservatory Theater, he left before graduating in order to star in the TV film “Juarez” (1987), which was his first role. On the other hand, one of Benjamin’s first TV series was “Nasty Boys”(1989-90), following by “Texas”(1994), and eventually “Law&Order”(1995-99) which perhaps remains his most notable role. For his performance in this series, Bratt was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1999, and won the ALMA Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series. His net worth was rising steadily.

Benjamin starred in the 1996 film “Follow Me Home”, written and directed by his brother, Peter Bratt, then in 2000 he played alongside Benicio del Toro in Steven Soderbergh’s crime drama film “Traffic”, for which role he received a joint Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. The same year he played alongside Sandra Bullock in “Miss Congeniality”, and received a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting Actor – Comedy. However, Bratt also received two Golden Raspberry Awards for Worst Screen Combo in “The Next Best Thing” (with Madonna) and “Catwoman” (with Halle Berry), but was then rewarded for his performance in the TV series “The Cleaner”, receiving a PRISM and and ALMA Award in 2009. The same year, he starred in another of his brother’s film “La Mission” as Che Rivera, and for this role he won an Imagen Award for Best Actor. His other notable roles include the ones in “Blood In Blood Out”, “The People Speak”, “ The Lesser Blessed”, “Despicable Me 2”. All have helped his net worth to rise.

In his personal life, Benjamin Bratt dated actress Julia Roberts for three years, then in 2002 started dating actress Talisa Soto, whom he soon married; the couple have two children. He has been a strong supporter of Native American Health Center and Friendship House Association of American Indians. He actively supports the American Indian College Fund, and narrated the mini-series “We Shall Remain”.
