Beanie Sigel was born on March 6, 1974, in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dwight Grant’s stage name also came from the location – in South Philadelphia there is a street with the same name as the musician’s nickname. Sigel started his career as a rapper in 2000 when he released his debut album called “The Truth”. It was able to hit number 2 on the US R&B chart and in United States alone there were over 650 000 copies sold. Of course, such a successful debut helped to increase Beanie Siegel’s net worth. Moreover, this album was certificated as Gold by RIAA. The second album, “The reason”, was even more popular thanks to the higher place on US R&B chart position, though only 585 000 copies were sold. However, this was the second of Sigel’s step to a further career and one more serious contribution to his net worth. Later the rapper released four more albums, the most recent of them appeared in stores in 2012.
Beanie Sigel’s career as an actor began when he appeared in a 2000 documentary film directed by Chris Fiore, called “Backstage”. Other show business stars also appeared In this movie, such as Jay-Z, rapper DMX, Method Man and Redman. Later he could be seen as Stu in a hip-hop urban crime comedy along with Kevin Hart and Stacey Dash. Of course, his acting career didn’t increase Beanie’s net worth as his musical career did, but he definitely has become more popular among viewers.
Except for his amount of net worth, and career in show business Beanie Sigel is also known because of his problems with police. He was first arrested in 2002 and charged with a federal weapons offence, and Sigel served one year in prison because of this conviction. Next time he was arrested in 2003 for punching an old man in the face which caused an eye socket fracture. After half of a year – one more incident, Beans fired six shots with a handgun at the door of a club and injured two people inside. Then – several more incidents before one of the main problems with police – on August 15, 2009 more than 50 grams of marijuana was found in Sigel’s car. He also was sentenced to prison because of tax fraud – hence his relatively small amount of current net worth.
