Sebastiaan Rutten was born on the 24th February 1965, in Tilburg, The Netherlands and is a former mixed martial artist, professional wrestler and kickboxer. Bas Rutten – or “El Guapo” which is his nickname meaning “The Handsome” – is most famous as the former Ultimate Fighting Heavyweight Champion as well as a three-time King of Pancrase World Championship. He is also versed in Tae Kwon Do, Thai boxing, Kyokushin Karate and Krav Maga. Bas Rutten is the founder of “The Bas Rutten System”, as well as an author of several martial arts books and tutorials. Currently, Bas serves as the co-host of AXS.TV’s “Inside MMA” live magazine.
