Austin Dwayne Trout Wiki Biography

Austin Dwayne Trout was born on 18 September 1985, in El Paso, Texas USA, of African-American descent. He is a professional boxer, best known for holding the WBA (Regular) super welterweight title from 2011 to 2013.

So just how rich is Austin Trout at present? According to sources in early 2017, Trout has earned a net worth of over $500,000, the main source being his professional boxing career which began in 2005.

Trout grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he attended Mayfield High School. He began to train for boxing in a local gym when he was ten years old, and by the age of 19, he had compiled a 163-42-1 amateur record, becoming the US National Amateur Welterweight Champion at 147 pounds, and the runner-up to make the 2004 US Olympic Boxing Team.

The following year he turned pro, defeating Justo Almazan by a third-round TKO. He went on to win his first 26 fights at a professional level, and in 2009, he won against Taronze Washington, earning the vacant WBC Continental Americas Light Middleweight title. He soon became a mandatory challenger for the WBA World Boxing Championship title, eventually winning it. In 2011 Trout took the WBA World Light Middleweight Championship title by defeating Interim champion Rigoberto Alvarez, winning 11 of the 12 rounds on all three judges’ scorecards. This enabled him to earn his first taste of fame, significantly improving his wealth.

Later that year, he successfully defended his title against mandatory challenger David Alonso Lopez, scoring an 11th-round knockdown. He went on to make two more title defenses, against Frank LoPorto and Delvin Rodriguez, reinforcing his status in the sport. In 2012 Trout defended his WBA Light Middleweight Championship against No. 2 ranked Light Middleweight, Miguel Cotto, outboxing his opponent in front of a mostly pro-Cotto crowd, winning by a wide unanimous decision, capturing the biggest victory of his career and giving his popularity even more of a boost.

The following year Trout faced Light Middleweight champion Canelo Álvarez, who went undefeated as a professional. Trout ended up being sent to the canvas for the first time in his career in the seventh round, and Alvarez won by a unanimous decision and took the title.

Following the bout with Alvarez, Trout fought against Erislandy Lara, being knocked down in the 11th round and losing the fight. He then captured two wins in 2014, against Daniel Dawson and Luis Grajeda.

The year 2015 saw Trout making his Premier Boxing Champions debut, winning against Luis Galarza by scoring a seventh-round TKO. Later that year he defeated Joey Hernandez, thereby climbing his way back to the top. Trout’s most recent fight was in 2016 against Jermall Charlo, for his IBF light middleweight title, which he failed to win.

Aside from boxing, Trout has been featured in an episode of the TLC reality television series called “Say Yes to the Dress”, in which his then fiancé chooses her wedding dress.

When it comes to his personal life, Trout married Taylor Hardardton in 2011; the couple now has three children, and the family resides in Las Cruces.
