Arthur Paul Alexakis Wiki Biography
Born Arthur Paul Alexakis on the 12th April 1962, in Los Angeles, California USA, he is a musician/guitarist, singer and composer, probably best known to the world as the founder of the grunge rock band Everclear. Apart from Everclear, Art has also performed with numerous other bands and musicians, including The Easy Hoes and Colorfinger, among others. His career has been active since the 1980s.Have you ever wondered how rich Art Alexakis is, as of mid-2016? According to authoritative sources it has been estimated that Art’s net worth is as high as $500,000, an amount earned through his career in the music industry.
Art`s childhood was rough; his father left him, his mother, brother and three sisters, which forced them to move to the Mar Vista Gardens housing projects in California, near Culver City. Furthermore, he was abused by older kids, his brother died from a heroin overdose, and his girlfriend committed suicide. Also, Art tried to kill himself,.
Art attended Los Angeles Community College where he studied film, but soon enough got involved in the underground music scene by becoming a member of the band called The Easy Hoes. However, his tenure with the band was short, as he started his own record label called Shindig Records, and as a solo act released the album “Deep In The Heart Of The Beast In The Sun” (1990), but soon changed to a band act, named Colorfinger; they released one more album called “Demonstration” the same year. His net worth now had a basis.
After the disbandment of Colorfinger, Art moved to Portland and soon began work on new songs, and started seeking new band members. Shortly after, Everclear was formed with Craig Montoya on bass guitar and Scott Cuthbert on drums. The band`s first album came out in 1993, entitled “World Of Noise”, however, it didn`t receive commercial praise. Nevertheless, Art continued producing music, and his next album, called “Sparkle And Fade” (1995) released through Capitol records, achieved platinum status, and reached No. 20 on the Billboard 200 Chart. He and his band continued successfully through the 1990s, and with albums “So Much For The Afterglow”, “Songs From An American Movie Vol. One: Learning How To Smile”, and “Songs from an American Movie Vol. Two: Good Time for a Bad Attitude”, both released in 2000, achieved worldwide fame, as albums were platinum and double platinum certified, which only increased Art`s net worth too.
However, after 2000 his popularity began to decline, and though he released four more albums, including “Slow Motion Daydream” (2003), “Welcome To The Drama Club” (2006), “Invisible Stars” (2012), and “Black Is The New Black” (2015), none of them even entered into the top 20 albums on the Billboard 200 Chart.
Apart from music, Art also tried himself as an actor, but excluding several brief appearances, he hasn`t had much luck so far.
Regarding his personal life, Art has been married four times; his first wife was Anita, however there are no further details in the media. His second wife was Jenny Dodson, the couple married in 1995 and divorced in 1999 and had one child. His third marriage was to Stephanie Greig, which lasted from 2000 until 2004; the couple had one child. In 2009, he married Vanessa Crawford, with whom he has one child. He is also active in politics, and has supported the LGBT community.
