Anita was abandoned by her biological mother, and was raised by her foster parents from the age of two. The band went on to release a self-titled album which however did not succeed in the music market.
Eventually, driven by her passion for music, Anita started a solo music career in 1982 when she signed a deal with the Beverley Glen label, and released an album, “The Songstress” in 1983. Singles from the album like “No More Tears”, “Angel” and “You’re the Best Thing Yet” went on to get listed in R&B charts, and with this success, Anita became a known name in the American music industry. As a singer, she has released a total of seven albums in her solo career, including “Rapture”, “Compisitions”, “My Everything”, “Rhythm of Love”, etc. and one as a member of the band, Chapter 8.
