Andres Arturo Garcia Menendez, better known as Andy Garcia, was born in 1956, Cuba. When Andy was only 5 years old, his family decided to move to Florida and start business there. Andy’s parents became the owners of perfume company and successful businesspeople. While attending school Andy was interested in sports but later he decided to he wanted to start his career in acting. The first lessons that Garcia gained about acting was from his drama teacher Jay W. Jensen. Andy debuted as an actor in Florida International University, but soon enough his talent was noticed and he started acting in Hollywood. Step by Step Andy Garcia’s net worth started to grow. Andy’s first roles included the role in Murder, She Wrote, the role in Hill Street Blues and the role in The Untouchables. His success began to grow and Andy became popular with his every appearance. One of the most memorable roles in his career is the role of Vincent Mancini in The Godfather Part III. The popularity of this movie affected Garcia’s net worth a lot.

Other movies in which Andy appeared include When a Man Loves a Woman, Night Falls on Manhattan, Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead and many more. Andy was able to portray different types of characters from an alcoholic husband to a cop. Andy’s acting skills are impressive and there is no surprise that he is so successful in the movie industry. Latest movies in which Garcia appeared are Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen and The Lost City. While being a part of these movies he had an opportunity to work with George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Dustin Hoffman, Bill Murray and many others.

Another activity which will probably make Garcia’s net worth grow is the upcoming movie Hemingway & Fuentes, which Andy will direct. Although the filming of this movie should have already started, but there occurred some problems and the main actor had to be changed. Despite this fact, this movie will probably gain a lot of success when it will be released. Finally, it could be said that, Andy Garcia is one of the most successful and talented actors, who gained acclaim due to his hard work and ability to portray different characters. As Andy is still involved in the movie industry, there is a high possibility that Andy Garcia’s net worth will become higher.

Andy Garcia Quotes

  • In the beginning of my career I was offered every psycho role out there. After 8 Million Ways to Die (1986), it was like they couldn’t imagine anyone else playing a drug lord.
  • Jennifer 8 (1992) is a movie that was reduced by 20 minutes and they took the heart out of the picture. They took three or four scenes of the interrogation out between me and John Malkovich. The script was originally called A Policeman’s Story, and in the end, there was no policeman’s story! It was a movie about him dealing with demons, and finding light and a muse in this blind girl. And there was an alcoholic struggle in the script which is not in the movie. It was a better film at 2 hours and 20 minutes long instead of 2 hours. There were electrifying moments between my character and Malkovich, and that interrogation was precluded by an all-night alcoholic binge by my character. When they come to arrest me, I was naked, with my pants down, in complete emotional shambles. But they cut that out and diminished the whole film. My character was in a very pitiful situation, and had begun to drink again because of the death of his partner. So when you cut to me sitting in the interrogation room all cleaned up, it’s a front. So consequently it’s a totally different movie. It’s a thriller, and it works as a thriller, but that’s all it is. How do you deeply care about people if you don’t give the audience a chance to care about them or to understand them? That was my argument. So that was painful on many fronts, that whole process, for everybody concerned, really.
  • I spent seven years without working, so if they’re making cop movies, I’ll play cops. I got two kids to bring up.
  • I’m an exile. My father had the courage to leave with his wife, his mother and three children under twelve. It took more courage to leave, to sacrifice everything for freedom, than to stay.
  • I never applied to go back to Cuba. They did invite me to the Havana Film Festival, but I am opposed to the regime in Cuba. I’d have liked to go back every day of my life. But in honor of all the people who have died and suffered under that regime, I’m not able to make that leap.
  • They say a lot of women would like to see me naked, but there’s not a lens long enough for that.
  • Freedom is not negotiable.
  • You are defined by who you are, by your choices in life, in all regards, not just in doing movies.
