Andrei Gennadyevich Kirilenko, born on the 18th of February, 1981, is a Russian American former pro basketball player who became famous for playing with the Brooklyn Nets in the National Basketball League (NBA). He also became known for his participation with CSKA Moscow and the Russian National Team in basketball. He is currently the head of the Russian Basketball Federation.
So how much is Kirilenko’s net worth? As of mid-2017 based on authoritative sources it is reported to be $50 million, acquired largely from his years as a professional basketball player playing in the NBA and with CSKA Mosco and the Russian National Team.
Born in Izhevsk, Russia, Kirilenko learned to play basketball at a very young age. He was already participating in organized basketball when he was 10, and soon he became one of the youngest players to join the Russian Basketball Super League playing for Spartak Saint Petersburg. After a couple of years, he transferred to CSKA Moscow and helped them win the championship in 1998.
With his accolades in Russia, Kirilenko soon joined the NBA. At the age of 18, he became the youngest European player to be drafted by the Association, and also became the first Russian to be drafted in the first round.
Although drafted in 1999, Kirilenko was only able to play with the Utah Jazz in 2001. He spent most of his professional years in the NBA with the Jazz, playing with the team until 2011. He was named to the first team on the NBA All-Rookie Team, and was also selected in the 2004 NBA All Star game. In the 2005-2006 seasons, his feat also led him to be named to the first NBA All-Defensive team. His performances with the Utah Jazz elevated both his career and his net worth.
After his time with the Jazz, in 2011, Kirilenko decided to fly back to Russia and play with his old team CSKA Moscow while NBA was in lockout. Despite only playing for one year, he was able to win the 2011-12 EuroLeague MVP and was even selected to the All-EuroLeague Team.
In 2012, Kirilenko returned to the NBA after the lockout, and joined Minnesota Timberwolves. After a year, he then transferred to the Brooklyn Nets, and also a year later moved to play the Philadelphia 76ers but was later waived after not showing up after being traded. For the last time in 2015, he once again played for CSKA Moscow, before retiring in June 2015.
Aside from playing professional basketball, he also participated at the Olympics playing for Russia’s national team from 2000 onwards. His years playing professional tremendously helped raise his wealth through the years.
After his retirement from playing professional basketball, Kirilenko returned home and became the head of the Russian Basketball Federation.
In terms of his personal life, Kirilenko has been married to European singer Masha Lopatova since 2001, and they two have two sons together.
