Anastacia Lyn Newton Wiki Biography
Anastacia Lyn Newton was born on the 17th September 1968 in Chicago, Illinois USA, who became famous in 1999 with the song “I’m Outta Love”. Although almost unknown in her homeland, she has sold more than 52 million albums worldwide so far.
How much is the net worth of Anastacia? It has been reported by authoritative sources that the overall size of her wealth is as much as $40 million, as of the data presented in the middle of 2017. Music is the major source of Anastacia’s fortune.
To begin with, Anastacias father is the singer Robert Newkirk, her mother the Broadway actress Diane Hurley. After the divorce of her parents, she moved to New York with her mother and siblings, where she first attended the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan. Anastacia had to deal with restrictions due to Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammatory disease, even at a young age, but despite this, she developed a great interest in dance as a teenager.
In 1998, Anastacia participated in the singing contest “The Cut” on MTV and made it to the final. Although she did not win the trophy, her appearance left a strong impression and major labels wanted to sign her to a contract. She opted for Daylight Records, a sub-label of Sony Musics Epic Records. In 2000, Anastacia’s first studio album appeared entitled “Not That Kind”, which climbed to the top of the album charts in Australia, the Netherlands and Switzerland, and sold more than five million copies worldwide. At the end of 2001, “Freak of Nature” followed, surpassing the success of her debut album with seven million copies sold, reaching the top in Germany. After releasing the two songs “Why’d You Lie to Me” and “You’ll Never Be Alone”, Anastacia contributed the booming title to the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea, but which was only moderately successful, however, still raising her net worth.
At the beginning of 2003, the singer was diagnosed with breast cancer, which was treated with surgery and radiation. After an illness related break of more than one year, Anastacia returned to the music business in 2004 with her self-titles album, which achieved five times platinum in Germany alone, and was the German album of the year. In addition, Anastacia worked as a presenter in the MTV casting show “A Cut”.
In 2004, Anastacia performed on her first major European tour “Live at Last”, in many countries playing to sold out halls, which led to the tour extension in spring and summer 2005. Later that year, Anastacia released her following album, “Pieces of a Dream”, which contained her greatest hits, so her net worth continued to rise.
After a long break, her following album “Heavy Rotation” was released in 2008. In 2010 she was a temporary judge for the British TV talent-spotting show “Don’t Stop Believing”, in fact only then dropping out because of contractual concert tours and album agreements. In 2012, the singer published a cover album “It’s a Man’s World”, but at the beginning of 2013, Anastacia cancelled her planned European tour because she had been diagnosed with breast cancer again, subsequently undergoing a double mastectomy to prevent any further recurrence.
In 2014, the singer released “Stupid Little Things”, the first single from her next studio album “Resurrection”, which was published the same year, and reached 9th position on the UK chart. The same year, she was a jury member of the “Rising Star” singing contest aired on RTL, and received the German Rainbow Prize for charity and entertainment.
Although Anastacia was born in the US, and with her soulful voice and her songs have good appeal for a successful career in there, her great breakthrough has not happened so far. She reached the highest place with her debut single, “I’m Outta Love” which took 92nd place on the Billboard single charts.
Finally, in the personal life of Anastacia, she married her lifeguard Wayne Newton in Mexico in 2007,but in 2010 announced that she had filed for divorce. Currently, she is single.
