Amy Lysle Smart Wiki Biography
Amy Lysle Smart, born on the 26th of March 1976, is an American actress who became famous for her movies “Just Friends”, “Crank”, and “Mirrors.”
So how much is Smart’s net worth? As of early 2018, based on authoritative sources it is reported to be $8 million, acquired from her years working as an actress in film and television, which began in the mid-1990s.
Born in Topanga Canyon, California, of part-German, English and Irish ancestry. Smart is the daughter of Judy Lysle Carrington, who was a museum curator, and John Boden Smart, a salesman. Smart had a simple childhood, with most of her years spent in studying ballet, which eventually led her to become a model.
Smart’s career started around the early ‘90s working as a model in Italy. Her passion for acting started upon meeting friend Ali Larter, who was already a model; the two immediately clicked and went to Los Angeles to study acting. Her first acting gig was in a music video for The Lemonheads’ song “It’s About Time”. Eventually in 1996, she appeared in the movies “Campfire Tales” and “A&P.” Her early years as a model and actress kick-started her career, and also her net worth.
In the late ‘90s, Smart gradually gained more roles both in film and on television. In 1997 she appeared in the big-budgeted film “Starship Troopers”, and also in the miniseries “The ‘70s”. In 1999 she appeared in her first major role in the movie “Varsity Blues”, in which she played the girlfriend of the lead character played by James Van Der Beek. In the same year she also appeared in “Outside Providence,” so adding steadily to her net worth.
When the 2000’s came, Smart earned more major roles in both film and television. She played a recurring role in the TV series “Felicity”, and starred in films including “Rat Race”, “Starsky & Hutch”, “The Bigger Sky” and “The Butterfly Effect”. One of her career breakthroughs came in 2005 when she starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in the film “Just Friends”, which became a commercial success and helped in her wealth creation as well.
Other notable projects Smart has appeared in include “The Best Man”, “Crank” and “Crank High Voltage” along with Jason Statham and “Mirror.”
Today, Smart is still active as an actress. She recently appeared in the movies “Hangman” and “All the Way to the Ocean” and in the series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”; all the roles mentioned have been in relatively successful productions, one reason why Amy is in demand and her net worth still rising consistently.
In terms of her personal life, since 2011 Smart has been married to Carter Oosterhouse, a TV carpenter who gained fame through the HGTV network. Together they have a daughter named Flora born through a surrogate in 2016.
