Amy Frederica Brenneman was born on 22 June 1964, in New London, Connecticut USA, to Frederica Joanne, a judge of Jewish descent, and Russell Langdon Brenneman, Jr., an environmental lawyer of English, Irish, and Swiss descent. She is an actress, writer and producer, probably best known for starring in the CBS television series “Judging Amy”.

Brenneman grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Her involvement in acting started during her teenage years, participating in school and local theater productions.
