According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Lapore’s net worth is as high as $2.5 million, earned through her successful modelling career, and appearing on TV shows. Lapore also released her studio album in 2011 which improved her wealth too.
Amanda Lapore was born a son of a German-American mother, who was a housewife schizophrenic and spent most of the time in mental hospitals, and an Italian-American father, a chemical engineer. She has an elder brother, but was profoundly isolated from her peers in high school, so her parents decided to send Amanda to a private school and took her to a psychiatrist to obtain a prescription for a Hormone Replacement Therapy – she subsequently made costumes for her transgender friend in exchange for hormones during her teen days.
Amanda had sex reassignment surgery when she was 19-years-old, in Yonkers, New York City, and moved permanently to New York in 1989. Lapore worked in a nail salon in the early ‘90s, and also as a cosmetics salesgirl for Patricia Field, but was also known as a nightlife figure. She met photographer and visual artist David LaChapelle while hosting at the Bowery Bar, and ultimately became his muse.
Lepore appeared in numerous fashion magazines such as French Playboy, Ponytail, DAMn, and TUSH, and also posed for the cover of Lords of Acid’s “Expand Your Head” album in 1999 and Thighpaulsandra’s album “The Lepore Extrusion” in 2006. Lepore also had cameos in numerous music videos for noted artists such as The Dandy Warhols, Elton John, Girl in a Coma, Thalía, Keanan Duffty, Grace Jones, TIGA, and The Drums. In 2010, Amanda was a Chief of Parade at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in Australia.

She recorded three EP’s: “My Pussy” (2007), “Fierce Pussy (The Remix Album)” (2008), and “Cazwell and Amanda” (2010), before in 2011 releasing her first full studio album called “I…Amanda Lepore”,
Her face has been used for commercial purposes on a few occasions, including Swatch’s “Time Tranny” edition of watches in 1999, and the Amanda Lepore doll launched by Integrity Toys in 2006. She also owns her own cosmetic products line called “Collection Lepore”, so these businesses are also adding to her net worth.
