According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of Amanda’s net worth is over $4 million, which has been accumulated through her successful involvement in the sports industry as a professional swimmer. Another source is coming from her autobiographical book “In the Water They Can’t See You Cry: A Memoir” (2012).
Amanda Beard spent her childhood with two older sisters in Newport Beach, California. As her sister was member of the local swim team, she enjoyed watching them until 1986, when she joined the team and soon distinguished herself as a swimmer. Thus, in 1994, Amanda became a member of the competitive team called the Irvine Novaquatics. Subsequently, she perfected her strokes, and became a competitor at higher levels.
Amanda’s professional career in the sports industry began when she was 14 years old, while she was attending Irvine High School, when she joined the 1996 Olympic team, winning three medals – gold for a relay race, and two silver medals in the 100-meter and 200-meter breaststrokes, which made her the second-youngest US medalist in swimming at that time, and added a considerable amount to her net worth.
Upon matriculation, she received a scholarship to the University of Arizona, where she continued her education and swimming training, after which she joined the 2000 Olympic team, winning this time a bronze medal in the 200-meter breaststroke in Sydney, increasing further her net worth.
Once more she made the Olympic swimming team in Athens in 2004, when she won an individual gold medal, setting the record in the 200-meter breaststroke. Beside that, she also won two silver medals. Furthermore, in 2008, she was named the co-captain of the Olympic team in Beijing; however, she didn’t have major success after finishing 18th.
Amanda also competed at the 2010 Conoco Phillips National Championships, finishing second and qualifying for the Pan Pac team, but without any major success. After the competition, she was named again as the co-captain of the US national team, after which she qualified for finals, but failed to medal.
At the 2012 Summer Olympic Games trials, Amanda finished in fifth place in the 200-meter breaststroke, and so she didn’t qualify for the Games.
Apart from her career in the sports, Amanda Beard has tried herself as a model, appearing in the “FHM” magazine, as well as in “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition” in 2006 and in “Playboy in 2007, posing nude.
