Alexander Richard Ludwig Wiki Biography

Alexander Richard Ludwig is an actor, model and singer, born on 7th May 1992 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is best known for his roles in films “The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising”, “Lone Survivor”, “Disney’s Race to Witch Mountain” and “The Hunger Games”.

Have you ever wondered how rich Alexander Ludwig is? According to sources it has been estimated that Alexander Ludwig’s overall net worth is $3 million. Ludwig earned his wealth by appearing in many films, from 2000 until today. His latest involvement in the TV series “Vikings” only continues to increase his net worth.

Alexander was born as the eldest child in a family of three other children, to a businessman father and a mother who is a former actress. He is of German, Belgian, Scottish and English descent. Ludwig’s father is the co-chairman of the board for “Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.”. In spite of his favorable background, Alexander had to talk his parents into supporting his wish to become an actor, as they thought it was a dangerous path for children. However, he succeeded and began acting when he was nine. His first contact with acting was when he appeared in a Harry Potter toy commercial. This secured him a contract with an agent to continue working in the entertainment industry, and was the basis of his net worth.

It wasn’t long before he secured a role in a movie, in the 2000 made-to-video American movie “Air Bud: World Pup”. Soon after came roles in “MXP: Most Extreme Primate” (2003), “Scary Godmother: The Revenge of Jimmy” (2005), “Eve and the Fire Horse” (2005) and others, all of which contributed to his growing net worth.

Apart from his movie roles, Ludwig also appeared on television. He performed in television movies like “A Little Thing Called Murder” (2006) and TV series “The Dead Zone”. In 2007, after taking 16 auditions, he was finally cast as the lead role in “The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising”(2007). Alexander’s next lead role came in 2009 when he played Seth, next to Dwayne Johnson in “Race to Witch Mountain”, a film which gained big box office success. One of his most notable roles came with the film adaptation of “The Hunger Games” in which he portrayed Cato, the fierce enemy of the protagonist. For this performance, Ludwig won the award for Best Fight on 2012 MTV Movie Awards, and the award for the Best Villain at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards. His net worth was rising steadily.

A year later, he co-starred in films “Lone Survivor” and “Grown Ups 2”, being nominated for the Worst Screen Combo Award at the Razzie Awards for his performance in the latter – is any publicity good publicity? Apparently, because Ludwig’s latest activity includes his involvement in the TV series “Vikings” as a part of the main cast.

However, beside his acting skills, Alexander is also musically talented and in March 2012 he released his first single “Liv It Up”. Other than this, he appeared next to actress Shelley Hennig in the music video for the song “Gentle on My Mind” by “The Band Perry”.

When it comes to the young actor’s private life, he is studying film, theater and entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California and is a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. Alexander spends his free time actively, as he is a passionate athlete – plays tennis, basketball, ice hockey and even water skis. Ludwig currently resides in Los Angeles, supposedly alone.
