Alexander Max Band Wiki Biography
Alexander Max Band was born on 8 June 1981, in Los Angeles, California USA, of Jewish descent. Alex is a singer, songwriter and musician, best known for being part of the band The Calling, and for producing several hit songs, including the hit “Wherever You Will Go”. He’s been active in the industry since 2000 and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Alex Band? As of mid-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $500,000, mostly earned through success in the music industry. Some of the other songs his band charted with include “Adrienne”, and “Our Lives”. He’s also done solo work, performing the hit “Why Don’t You & I” alongside Carlos Santana. As he continues his endeavors, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
Alex was born into a family involved in the entertainment industry. At a young age, his parents divorced, and he lived with his father who remarried while his mother moved to Germany and also had another family. His father is horror film director Charles Band, and Alex has made appearances in his father’s films. He also began playing music and writing songs while growing up.
Along with his friend Jethro Roshe-Kushel, Band formed the group “Maybe Solitude” and they made a music video, but the band was short lived, and soon he would meet Aaron Kamin and the two would begin playing music together, forming the band “Generation Gap”, which had more of a jazz theme. Eventually, they switched their name to “Next Door” and found a lot of influence from rock acts of the time, including Matchbox Twenty and Third Eye Blind. In 1999, they signed a record deal with RCA after sending in demos; they also changed their name to The Calling.
Alex and The Calling would release their first single “Wherever You Will Go” which would become a hit and reach the fifth spot of the Hot 100 charts. This led to the release of their first album “Camino Palmero” which went Platinum, so his net worth increased thanks to the band’s success. In 2004, they then released their second album entitled “Two” which failed expectations and lacked support, and eventually the band announced a hiatus and made their last performance in 2005. Since then, Alex has focused on a solo career, and would release the single “Why Don’t You & I” with Carlos Santana, which became hugely successful, reaching eighth spot on the Billboard Top 100.
In 2005, Band signed as a solo artist with Geffen Records, and planned to make an album, but it was abandoned after many delays. He continued to release songs and collaborated to contribute to film soundtracks. In 2008, he created his own record label, AMB Records, and would release the EP called “Alex Band EP’ and tour to promote his new music. His debut solo album was called “We’ve All Been There” and was released in 2010.
He’s also done some acting work, notably appearing in an episode of “CSI: NY”.
For his personal life, it is known that Alex married actress Jennifer Sky in 2004 but they divorced in 2009. The following year, he became engaged to Kristin Blanford, and they married in 2011 but their marriage lasted only for a year. In 2013, he married Shayna Weber and they have a son. Aside from his music, he also works with various charities, including with Donate Life America and The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease. Alex was diagnosed with the onset of Parkinson’s in 2012.
