Albert Hammond, Jr. Wiki Biography
Albert Louis Hammond Jr. was born on the 9th April 1979, in Los Angeles, California USA, and is of Argentinian and Gibraltarian descent. Albert is best known to the world as a guitarist of the rock band The Strokes; however, Albert has also launched a solo career as a singer, releasing three albums so far.
Have you ever wondered how rich Albert Hammond is? According to sources, it is estimated that Albert Hammond`s overall net worth is $10 million, an amount acquired through his successful career as a musician.
Albert`s father also dabbled in music in his own time, having a few hits, including “It Never Rains In Southern California” released in 1972. This had a huge influence on Albert himself, as he grew up listening to his father`s music, falling in love with it. When he was in his teen years, his parents sent him to Switzerland, in order to attend the Institut Le Rosey, a boarding school. It was there he met his future colleague, musician Julian Casablancas, with whom he continues to make music to the present day.
After Albert graduated from high school, he returned to USA, and enrolled at New York University`s Tisch School Of The Arts. While living in New York, he was Casablancas roommate and their friendship was crowned in 1998, as Albert joined Casablancas` band The Strokes as a guitarist.
The band`s first release was the 2001 EP entitled “The Modern Age”, which immediately garnered positive critics, and they soon received much needed attention from the record labels, and the band signed with RCA Records. Their first full length album was released in 2001, entitled “Is This It”; the album peaked at number two on the UK charts, and finished in 33rd place on the Billboard Top 200 in USA. This success increased not only Albert`s net worth but also his popularity, and the band continued to produce music.
They have released four more albums, which include “Room On Fire” (2003), “First Impression Of Earth” (2006), both of which went gold several times, and their latest release “Comedown Machine”, however, this release underperformed in sales, as it had only 40,000 copies sold. Anyway, all certainly increased Albert`s net worth.
Apart from his career with the band, Albert is also a celebrated solo artist with three albums released so far. His debut solo achievement is the 2006 album “Yours To Keep”, which features collaboration with John Lennon`s son, Sean Lennon. The second album Albert released was in 2008, under the name “Como Te Llama?”, which peaked at number 5five on the Billboard Top Heatseekers list. This success also increased his net worth, and in support of his second album, Albert embarked on several tours, alongside music acts such as Coldplay, among many others.
His latest release is the 2015 album entitled “Momentary Masters”, however, this release hasn`t so far lived up to the success of his previous ones, but still, it certainly increased Albert`s overall net worth.
When it comes to relationships and love life, Albert has had quite an interesting time. It is known in the media that Albert was in a romantic relationship with the supermodel Agyness Deyn and also with the popular singer and drummer of the American pop-rock band The Pierces, Catherine Pierce. However, he decided to settle, marrying Justyna Sroka in 2013.
