So just how rich is Al Roker, as of early 2017? Authoritative sources have estimated that Al has a net worth of over $30 million, gained mostly thanks to his long career on TV networks in the US, additionally having hosted the famous “Wake Up With Al”. For book lovers, Al is known as the author of the “The Morning Show Murders”.
Young Al Roker dreamt of becoming a cartoonist, and was even one of the members of the cartoon club in the school which he attended. After matriculation from Xavier High School in Manhattan, Roker studied at the State University of New York at Oswego, and graduated with a BA degree in journalism and broadcasting.
Before Al Roker gained his significant net worth, he worked as a weather forecaster on TV, on a channel which was then called When-TV, and now better known as WTVH. Al Roker’s net worth really increased after he started to participate in the “Today Show” on NBC from 1996.
Today Al Roker is very well known thanks to his successful show “Wake Up With Al” – this program can usually interest a wide range of viewers as its contents are not only weather forecasts, but also the main worldwide and American news, so displaying Al’s talent as a TV show host.
However, now talking about filmography, Al Rocker made his debut on TV in 1990 when he played himself in “Another World”. Next time he appeared for viewers was three years later in “Seinfeld”. However, recently he has filmed more often. In 2013 Al Roker participated in the filming of two movies: “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” and “The Michael J. Fox Show”. All have added to his net worth.
Talking about his personal life, Al Roker has married twice, firstly to Alice Bell from 1984 to 94, with whom he has a daughter. Since 1995 his wife has been American TV journalist from the ABC News – Deborah Roberts, and they have a daughter and a son..
However, Al Roker has problems with health; he had gastric by-pass surgery because he had to lose weight after a diet that wasn’t effective at all, following which Al lost 45 kg. Then he had to undergo a total knee arthroplasty, and in 2005 had an operation on his back after suffering pain. The latest is that he had another knee replacement in 2016 – otherwise he is perfectly healthy, and living in New York City.
