Afroman Wiki Biography
Joseph Edgar Foreman was born on the 28th July, 1974 in Palmdale, California USA. He is a musician well known under his stage name Afroman, and his career in the music industry is the main source of Afroman’s net worth and popularity. Among a number of singles, he has created a worldwide hit “Because I Got High” (2000). Afroman has been active in show business since 1992.
How much is the Afroman’s net worth? It has been estimated that the overall size of his wealth is as much as $100,000, accumulated during more than 20 years as a musician.
To begin with, Afroman has been interested in music since an early age. He took his first step onto a stage when he joined the church band, in which he played guitar and drums. Then as a teenager he became interested in hip hop music, and being in only the 8th grade, he recorded his first song. The reason which impelled him to write it was banishment from school because of wearing inappropriate clothing (his jeans significantly below the waist). To his own surprise, the song was very popular and he managed to sell more than 400 copies of the record which was made in his own bedroom. This led Afroman into a successful career, which has added significant sums to the overall size of his net worth.
In 1998, his debut album “My Fro-losophy” was released, though it was not very successful. Later, Afroman moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi and started working with the producer Tim Ramenofsky, the keyboardist/bassist Darrell Havard and the drummer Jody Stallone. Together they recorded the popular single “Because I Got High” (2000), which became a top hit in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and many European countries including UK, Germany, Austria and others, in many of which the single received certifications for sales. The song also became the nominee for a Grammy Award in the category of the Best Rap Solo Performance. More, it has been heard in the pop culture, including films “Disturbia”, “The Perfect Score”, “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” and others. The same year the second studio album “Because I Got High” (2000) was released though it failed to repeat the success of the same name single, but his net worth grew somewhat from these activities.
On the whole, Afroman has released 12 studio albums, but only one has managed to enter the music charts, which was the fourth studio album entitled “The Good Times” (2001) released under the label Universal Records. It entered the Billboard Top 10 and was certified gold in response to sales in USA. Of course, it added sums to the total size of Afroman net worth, too.
Finally, in the personal life of the musician, Afroman is known to be married to Angie Foreman, otherwise he reveals little about his private life. However, recently Afroman was arrested and charged with assault, for offensive behaviour he demonstrated during his performance in Mississippi, in 2015. When a female appeared on the stage and approached the musician dancing, he knocked her down. Later, he apologized to the woman in public, and entered an anger management course.
