Justin Vernon Wiki Biography
Justin DeYarmond Edison Vernon was born on the 30th April 1981, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin USA. He is widely known as a musician – singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist – who is the founder and frontman of the indie-rock band Bon Iver. He is also recognized as the music producer of his band’s albums. His career has been active since the early 2000s.
Have you ever wondered how rich is Justin Vernon? According to sources, it is estimated that Vernon’s overall net worth is $5 million, an amount acquired through his career in the music industry, during which he has released several albums. Undoubtedly, his career will become greater, and so will his net worth in the forthcoming years.
Justin Vernon spent his childhood in Eau Claire, where he attended elementary school and Memorial High School then beginning in 1999, he studied Religious and Women’s Studies at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. He was a good student, and thus participated in the student exchange program and spent one semester in Ireland. Soon after, his focus been moved to music, where he ‘found’ himself. We can say that Vernon has been in music since his college days, when he formed two bands, DeYarmond Edison and Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon was short lived, but DeYarmond Edison was quite successful in his home town, and after a few years, Vernon decided to move the band to North Carolina in order to expand his career. Soon after the move, the band managed to release their first self-titled album in 2004, and a year later came their second release, entitled “Silent Signs”. However, the band eventually broke up because of several internal arguments.
Nevertheless, Vernon returned to music just a few months after the band’s break up, forming Bon Iver, which name has the meaning “good winter”, derived from one French phrase. The first release from the band came in 2007, entitled “For Emma, Forever Ago”, which immediately struck a chord with the public and it also attracted a few record labels; the next year, Justin signed with the independent record label “Jagjaguwar”, and the album was eventually certified Gold, as it sold over 500,000 copies. This certainly increased Vernon’s net worth, and encouraged him to continue to write music.
Soon enough, Vernon found several musicians, and started touring, in order to promote the band’s first album. Alongside, Sean Carey, Michael Noyce and Matthew McCaughan, Vernon embarked on a tour throughout the USA, appearing at the Lollapalooza, Austin Music Festival and Way Out West and Sasquatch festivals, which certainly added to his net worth.
The band’s next release was the 2009 EP entitled “Blood Bank”, which featured four songs, and it managed to reach 1st place on the UK Indie Chart, adding to Vernon’s net worth through its sales. In 2012, Bon Iver released their latest album, entitled “Bon Iver, Bon Iver”, which received highly positive critiques, and debuting in 2nd place on the US Billboard 200 chart.
During his career with the band Bon Iver, Justin has won several prestigious awards, for his accomplishments, including the Best New Artist award in 2012, and Best Alternative Music Album for the “Bon Iver, Bon Iver” release.
Furthermore to his successful career, Justin is also a member of the bands Volcano Choir, and Gayngs, which also benefits his net worth.
Regarding his personal life, little is published about Justin Vernon in the media. From 2011 he was in a relationship with Kathleen Edwards, a Canadian musician, but they separated, and he is yet to marry, and he still lives in his native Eau Claire. Vernon is a big fan of tattoos, and has a number on his body. He is also a big fan of music festive. In free time, he enjoys teaching music to children. Vernon has official profiles on social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, on which he has more than 450,000 followers. Beside that, he has his own website, where we can find information about his tours and events.
