Chris Farley was the middle child of five – his father Thomas and mother Mary Anne owned an oil company. His brothers are actors – John Farley and Kevin P. Farley. After attending the Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart, he studied Communications and Theatre at the Marquette University, from which he graduated with a BA degree. His first earnings came from his work in the family’s oil company. Side by side with working there, he became a member of the Ark Improve theater group, and performed live with them. Soon he moved to Chicago, where he joined the Improv Olympic Theater. Step by step he developed his acting skills and became a member of the cast of the Second City Theater, where he was discovered in 1990 by Lorne Michaels, the producer of the TV show entitled “Saturday Night Live”. Chris Immediately joined the “SNL” cast together with Chris Rock, and in the future years, Farley, Rock and other stars including David Spade and Rob Schneider formed a sketch group called “The Bad Boys Of SNL”, which contributed steadily to his net worth.

Side by side with working on “SNL”, Chris` acting career began to develop, as he was featured in numerous TV series and films. In 1992, Farley appeared in the film “Wayne`s World”, which featured Mike Myers in the lead role, and the same year he was cast in an episode of “The Jackie Thomas Show”. 1993 was also quite beneficial for him, as he appeared in films “Wayne`s World 2” as Milton, and “Coneheads”, increasing his net worth.

To speak further of his activities in the entertainment industry apart from the “SNL”, in 1994, Chris was featured in the film “Airheads”, assuming the role of Officer Wilson. The next year, Chris earned his first lead role in the film “Tommy Boy”, portraying Tommy, a dimwitted and immature heir of an auto parts company, and in 1996 he was cast in the film “Black Sheep”, as Mike Donnelly. His net worth was rising.

Then in 1997, Chris appeared as Haru in the film “Beverly Hills` Ninja”, which would become his most recognized role in his shortlived career. Before his death, his net worth increased a bit more, as he earned roles in the films “Almost Heroes” (1998), and “Dirty Work” (1998), which was his last film.

During his career, Chris won the Best On-Screen Duo award with his friend and colleague David Spade, for their work in the film “Tommy Boy”, and he was rewarded posthumously with a Star on the Hollywood Boulevard in 2005.

Regarding his personal life little was known in the media about Chris Farley. Obviously, he was one devoted actor and comedian, who unfortunately fell under the influence of drugs, which complicated a heart disease.

Chris Farley Quotes

  • I want to live fast and die young.
  • I have a tendency toward the pleasures of the flesh. It’s a battle for me, as far as weight and things like that. But I’m curbing them because I want to continue to do comedy, and the two don’t mix. So I try to fight those demons.
  • I used to think that you could get to a level of success where the laws of the universe didn’t apply. But they do. It’s still life on life’s terms, not on movie-star terms. I still have to work at relationships. I still have to work on my weight and some of my other demons.
  • I was in the Pritikin Center in Santa Monica once, trying to lose 30 or 40 pounds in a month. I’d work… on a treadmill and with the weights, but it was driving me nuts. So I escaped. Tom Arnold picked me up and we went to Le Dome and had tons of desserts.
  • The point is, how do you know the Guarantee Fairy isn’t a crazy glue sniffer.
  • In the land of the skunks he who has half a nose is king.
  • Once I thought that if I just had enough in the bank, if I had enough fame, that it would be all right. But I’m a human being like everyone else. I’m not exempt.
  • People… need a time to laugh. It’s up to us to bonk ourselves on the head and slip on a banana peel so the average guy can say, ‘I may be bad, honey, but I’m not as much of an idiot as that guy on the screen.’
  • Everyone is treating it like a Hollywood story. In Madison, it’s a neighborhood story.
  • Basically, I only play one character; I just play him at different volumes.

Both of these shelved projects, along with a Roscoe ‘Fatty’ Arbuckle biopic, have been alleged to be cursed as Farley, John Belushi, and John Candy were each attached to all three roles, and all three died before any of the films entered production.
  • He was so disappointed in Beverly Hills Ninja (1997) that he cried on his agent’s shoulder after the first screening. He told his agent that he never wanted to do such a film again. • He was planning on starring in a biopic about Hermann Goering.
  • He was slated for a voice role in Dinosaur (2000) as a young male brachiosaurus named Sorbus who, despite his gigantic nature, was frightened of heights. After his death, the character was rewritten as Baylene, an elderly female Brachiosaurus played by stage actress Joan Plowright.

  • Was originally cast as Shrek in Shrek (2001) and even recorded the dialogue. However, after his death, the role was given to fellow Saturday Night Live (1975) performer, Mike Myers.
