Maino Wiki Biography
Jemaine Coleman, commonly known by his stage name of Maino, is a famous American rap artist. Maino rose to prominence in 2008, when he released his first commercial single called “Hi Hater”. Upon its release, the song peaked at #8 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles music chart, and made its way to the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart, where it placed at #16. In addition to being featured on Billboard charts, “Hi Hater” was later included in the soundtrack of “Midnight Club: Los Angeles” video game, developed by “Rockstar Games”. In 2009, the single was released together with Maino’s debut album entitled “If Tomorrow Comes”. The album featured guest appearances from T-Pain, B.G., Swizz Beatz and Trey Songz. Aside from “Hi Hater”, the album spawned two more singles, namely “Million Bucks” and “All the Above”. The latter single turned out to be Maino’s most commercially successful song, as it received a Platinum certification from the RIAA and was used by the Auburn “Tigers” football team as their introductory song. “All the Above” also became a song used by such sports teams as the Charlotte “Bobcats”, Oregon “Ducks” and West Virginia “Mountaineers”. Overall, Maino’s debut album “If Tomorrow Comes” peaked at #25 on the Billboard 200 music chart and managed to sell 18,000 copies during its first week in the United States alone.
A well-known rapper, how rich is Maino? According to sources, Maino’s net worth is estimated to be $2 million, most of which has come from his rapping career.
Maino was born in 1973, in Brooklyn, New York. In the early 90s, Maino started serving his 5 to 15 years sentence, which he received due to illegal activities that he got caught up in. During his time in prison, Maino began rapping as a way of coping with boredom and the reality of jail. When he was released from prison in 2003 after serving 10 years of his sentence, Maino decided to pursue a rapping career. Soon afterwards, Maino released his own mixtapes and caught the attention of “Universal Records”, with which he stayed until 2007. Instead of relying on other labels, Maino created his own record label under the name of “Hustle Hard”, which was later taken in as an imprint by “Atlantic Records”. With this label, Maino released his very first single “Hi Hater”, and a year later came out with his debut album entitled “If Tomorrow Comes”. Maino followed the success of his debut work with “The Day After Tomorrow”, a second studio album, which spawned two singles, namely “Let It Fly” and “That Could Be Us”, and featured guest appearances from Meek Mill, Lloyd Banks and T.I.
Currently, Maino is a part of “The Black Flag Mafia”, a rap group, which he formed in 2012. With “The Black Flag Mafia”, Maino has released one mixtape, meanwhile they’re very first EP album is currently in the works as well.
