Gary Joseph Knipfing, born on the 22nd of November, 1961 is an American stand-up comedian, writer and actor who became known under his stage name Gary Valentine.
So how much is Valentine’s net worth? As of mid 2016, it is reported to be $2.5 million, acquired from his years as a comedian, headlining various clubs and comedy festivals, and also starred in various television show and movies.
Born in Mineola, New York, of part-German descent, Valentine is the son of Janet and Joseph Knipfing. His mother worked in a chiropractor’s office and his father owned an insurance agency. He also has two siblings, Leslie and Kevin who became a popular Hollywood star as well, now more known as actor Kevin James.
Valentine’s career started in the early ’90’s as a stand-up comedian in New York. Although he was making enough income, success was a bit tough. He decided to venture to Los Angeles despite the competition and tried to rival other comedians. His appearance at the Montreal Comedy Festival created a buzz, and immediately opportunities came knocking at his door.
Valentine was invited to various talk shows that slowly started his career on television. Some of the programs that he graced are “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn”. His early appearances on television helped him build his net worth and his career as a premiere comic.
In 1999, Valentine landed his first television role in the show “The King of Queens”, playing the role of Danny Hefferman, cousin of the lead role Doug who is played by his brother Kevin. The show aired for nine seasons, became a success with audiences, and catapulted Valentine’s career in Hollywood plus tremendously increasing his net worth.After “The King of Queens”, Valentine shifted to movies and also found considerable success. He appeared in movies including “Stuck on You”, “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry”, “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” and “The Deported”. He was also cast in made-for-TV movies including “The Dog Who Saved Christmas”, “The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation”, “The Dog Who Saved Halloween”, “The Dog Who Saved the Holidays” and “The Dog Who Saved Summer”. From time to time he still appears in movies; he has also made guest appearances in the television shows “Men of Certain Age”, “The Fargo” and “The X Show”.
