John Quinones Wiki Biography

Juan Manuel Quiñones was born on the 23rd May 1952, in San Antonio, Texas USA, and is a journalist, best known to the world for being the host of the show “What Would You Do?”, which is aired on the ABC network.

Have you ever wondered how rich John Quiñones is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that John`s net worth is as high as $2 million, an amount earned largely through his career in the entertainment industry.

John belongs to a fifth generation of San Antonio natives, of part Mexican descent. John had a tough childhood and growing up on the whole, as when he was 13 years old, his father was fired, and John and his sisters were forced to join a caravan of farm workers and travel to Traverse City, Michigan to work on a farm as cherry harvesters. Soon enough his parents came to the same farm to work also, and John received wise words from his father, which he would never forget, “Juanito, do you want to do this for the rest of your life? Or, do you want to get a college education?”. He attended Bracken ridge High School in San Antonio, and while there he became a part of the federal anti-poverty program, Upward Bound, the main goal of which was to prepare poor inner-cities children for college. After high school, John enrolled at St Mary`s University in his hometown, from which he graduated with a bachelor`s degree in Speech Communication. He furthered his education, as he enrolled Columbia University`s School of Journalism, earning a master`s degree.

His career began in the mid- 1970s, when he was hired as radio news editor for KTRH in Houston, Texas, and at the same time served as an anchor reporter for the KPRC-TV. His next stop was in Chicago, working as a reporter for WBBM-TV. John then joined ABC News in 1982, and since then has been with the network. John firstly served as a general assignment correspondent with ABC News with headquarters in Miami, but his career progressed slowly but surely, and through the years he worked as the co-host of Primetime, and also reported for such shows as “Good Morning America”, “Nightline”, “ABC World News Tonight”, and “20/20”. Since 2008, he has been in position as the host of the hidden camera television program “What Would You Do”, which has increased his net worth by a large margin.

Thanks to his successful career, John has received several prestigious awards, including CINE award for his report on suicide bombers in Israel, ALMA Award, given by the National Council of La Raza, and has been the recipient of the prestigious Emmy Award seven times, among many others.

Regarding his personal life, John was married to his high school sweetheart, Nancy Lofts, (1988-2009) with whom he has three children. He resides in Manhattan, New York, and also owns a vacation house in Vail, Colorado and a home in Hamptons.
