May founded an alternative investment management fund entitled Trian Fund Management L.P., which is based in New York, and of which Nelson is the CEO. Currently, he also serves as a director of several companies including a global investment management firm Legg Mason, Inc., a multinational confectionery, food and beverage company Mondelez International and a global diversified industrial company Ingersoll Rand. Moreover, he is non – executive chairman of the board of a holding company, The Wendy’s. Peltz has been active in business since the 1980s.
