Robert Reed Carradine Wiki Biography
Robert Reed Carradine was born on 24 March 1954, in Hollywood, California, USA. He is an actor, perhaps best known for portraying Lewis Skolnick, a fraternity president in the various “Revenge of the Nerds” films. He was also known as Sam McGuire, the father on the popular Disney television show “Lizzie McGuire”. The achievements he’s had as an actor have helped put his net worth to where it is now.
How rich is Robert Carradine? As of early-2016, sources estimate that his net worth is at $3 million, mostly accumulated through a successful career in acting spanning over 40 years. He’s also part of the famous Carradine family, mostly consisting of actors and actresses. After appearing in several films, he also focused on television shows and guest appearances.
Robert is the son of actress Sonia Sorel and actor John Carradine. Most of his siblings would eventually go into acting like him. At a young age, his interests were a far cry from music. He lived with his half-brother David in Laurel Canyon, taking interest in music and race car driving. The both of them were part of a musical quartet that performed in small clubs in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Eventually, Robert would try out an acting career, making his film debut in “The Cowboys”, a 1972 movie that starred John Wayne. He then played a killer in the Martin Scorsese film “Mean Streets” where he worked with his brother David. For the following years Robert would be part of different films like “Cannonball”, “Orca” and the award winning drama “Coming Home”, a movie which brought Robert to the attention of many through his performance. His net worth was also rising steadily at this point. In 1980, he starred in the movie “The Long Riders” with his brothers David and Keith, and was also in “The Big Red One”, which starred Mark Hamill and Lee Marvin. After doing a few more films and music videos, Robert finally found one of the biggest films in his career through “Revenge of the Nerds”. Prior to shooting the movie, Carradine spent time in the University of Arizona to ensure that he was portraying the right type of nerd required for the film. The movie would create three sequels, two of which were produced by Robert.
For television, Robert started out in the 1971 Western series “Bonanza”. Around this time he also appeared in television series that starred family members, like “Kung Fu” and “Dark Angel”. From then on he would star in series like “The Sun Also Rises”, “Conspiracy: The Trial of Chicago 8”, and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”. One of the roles that helped make him become known in television was as Sam McGuire for the series “Lizzie McGuire” – the popularity of the show was such that it gained the attention of many celebrities, having guests like David Carradine and Steven Tyler. In recent shows, he reunited with “Revenge of the Nerds” co-star Curtis Armstrong, to host the “King of the Nerds” reality television show. All these added steadily to his net worth.
In Robert Carradine’s personal life, in 2015 he was involved in a car accident with his wife Edie Mani (m. 1990) and both sustained some injuries. They have three children, one of whom is actress Ever Carradine.
