Born Thomas Cunningham Thayer on the 7th November 1960 in Portland, Oregon USA, he is a musician, best known under the moniker The Spaceman, lead guitarist of the hard rock band Kiss. Also, he is one of the founding members of the glam metal band Black `n` Blue, however, the band broke up in 1989. His career has been active since the late 1970s.

Tommy was raised in the suburb of Beaverton, Oregon, with his four siblings. His mother was a violinist and singer, while his father was in business, and a former Brigadier General in the US Army. The next year, Gene Simmons became the band`s producer, and under his guidance the band released two more albums, “Nasty Nasty” (1986), and “In Heat” (1988), before they broke up.
