Bright and talented, he earned an athletic scholarship to continue studies at Syracuse University, where he played for the Syracuse Orange football team. Hi finished his college football career setting a school record in his senior year with 17.5 sacks and 34 career sacks. Thanks to his skills, Dwight was named a first-team All-Big East Conference selection in 2000 and 2001, as well as a first-team All-American in 2001.
Dwight’s professional playing career began when he was selected as the 11th overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Upon arrival he signed a rookie contract, and in the same year he set an NFL rookie record with nine forced fumbles, and was nominated for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. Soon after, he signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals worth $870,000, increasing his net worth; however, he played there only one season, although he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 16.
