Kerry Dale Earnhardt was born on 8 December 1969, in Kannapolis, North Carolina, USA. He is a retired NASCAR driver, but perhaps best known as the elder son of the seven time Winston Cup Series winner Dale Earnhardt. He was also a consultant for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. His son is also a race driver, and competes as a part of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

During the same year, he also raced as a part of K&N Pro Series West. In 2005, he joined Billy Ballew Motorsports to race in the Craftsman Truck Series, then the following year he signed to ThorSport Racing and had his best finish at 11th. In 2007, he announced his retirement from competitive racing, working as a test driver for DEI. One of his latest endeavors is driving one of his father’s original cars, which is a No.3 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
