Kid Rock Wiki Biography
Robert James Ritchie, to the public known by a stage name of Kid Rock, is a famous American musician, actor, disc jockey, singer, as well as a record producer. In the music industry, Kid Rock is known as a representative of southern rock, blues, country, rap and hip hop genres. Kid Rock started to receive a lot of media attention after he fused rap and rock music styles and created a rap-rock genre, the examples of which are his popular singles “Only God Knows Why”, which is considered to be among the greatest power ballads, “Cowboy” and “Bawitdaba”, which was significant in Kid Rock’s career, as well as the whole rap metal genre. The latter song was also nominated for two Grammy Awards and was featured in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” with Lucas Black and Bow Wow, “Ready to Rumble” with David Arquette, Oliver Platt and Bill Goldberg, and an episode of “Hawaii Five-0”.
All of these commercially successful songs came from Kid Rock’s fourth studio album called “Devil Without a Cause”, which was released in 1998. The album that mixed genres of rap rock and rap metal, did extremely well on the market, with over 9.3 million copies sold in the United States alone. Considered to be a rap-rock masterpiece, “Devil Without a Cause” was certified Platinum eleven times by the RIAA. Throughout his career as a singer, Kid Rock has sold more than 25 million copies of his albums in the United States.
A famous musician, how rich is Kid Rock? The sources state that Kid Rock’s net worth is estimated to be $80 million. Needless to say, most of Kid Rock’s net worth and wealth comes from his involvement in the entertainment industry.
Kid Rock was born in 1971, in Romeo, Michigan. Kid Rock’s career started during his teenage years, when he used to perform with various groups at local parties and clubs. Kid Rock signed his first record deal when he was 17 years old and was a member of a rap group called “The Beast Crew” with which he used to perform. However, the group had a falling out and Kid Rock went on to pursue a solo career. Kid Rock debuted in the music industry with “Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast”, which consisted primarily of rap songs. Kid Rock continued releasing rap albums until 1997, when he started exploring a genre of rap-rock.
In addition to being a solo artist, in 1994 Kid Rock formed a band called “Twisted Brown Trucker”, with which he has been performing ever since. Kid Rock debuted on television screens in 2001, when he appeared alongside Christopher Walken, David Spade and Brittany Daniel in an adventure film “Joe Dirt”. Ever since then, Kid Rock has starred in an episode of “CSI: NY”, “Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector” starring Larry the Cable Guy, Iris Bahr and Joanna Cassidy, voiced a character in “The Simpsons” and “Osmosis Jones” with Chris Rock, Bill Murray and William Shatner.

Kid Rock Quotes
- I’m in the scalping business, but you know what? We told everyone. A lot of artists have been doing this for years behind fans’ backs, taking all these backdoor deals. We look at StubHub and other places and see what they’re selling them for, and we just undercut them.
- I’ve never done songs with people just for the sake of the great combination. I’ve always done songs with friends. Sheryl Crow is one of them. It’s just fun to sing with her. She’s like a cool, gentle breeze and I’m this big snowstorm.
- [on giving advice to his son Junior] He wants to get into music but I always tell him ‘Don’t, because you’ll never be better than me’. But if he’s going to do it, I want to be sure he’s serious about it. He has to be ready to put in those 10,000 hours of hard work, sleep on floors, and carry amplifiers up the stairs in dirty clubs for years. One thing you don’t want to be is ‘just the son of Kid Rock’.
- I do not believe that artists or actors and people should be out there like voicing their full-blown opinions on politics because, let’s face it, at the end of the day, I’m not that smart of a guy. I play Rock ‘n’ Roll, that’s what I do. Who would you trust to make your decisions, Donald Rumsfeld or the Dixie Chicks?
- If it looks good, you’ll see it. If it sounds good, you’ll hear it. If its marketed right, you’ll buy it. But…If its real…you’ll feel it.
