Born as Joy-Ann M. Lomena on the 8th December 1968 in Brooklyn, New York City USA, she is a journalist, television host, political commentator and correspondent, best known to the world for her extensive work for MSNBC.

Joy is a daughter of a Congolese father and British Guianese mother; her parents met at the University of Iowa, and since then have been in a relationship. After matriculation, she enrolled at Harvard University, studying documentary filmmaking in the Visual and Environmental Studies department.

Thomas until 2007, and then in February 2014, she started hosting “The Reid Report”, her own news show, which lasted for a year when it was canceled, but Joy-Ann was appointed as a correspondent for MSNBC.
