Justin Louis Chamberlain Wiki Biography
Justin Louis Chamberlain was born on 23 September 1985, in Lincoln, Nebraska USA, and is a retired professional baseball player, best known from playing in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a relief pitcher. He was active in the league from 2007 to 2016, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Joba Chamberlain? As of late-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $2.25 million, mostly earned through a relatively successful career in baseball, played for numerous teams. As he continues his endeavors outside baseball, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
Joba’s parents were never married, and split-up when he was a baby. He attended Lincoln Northeast High School and during this time, served as a ball boy as well as a bat boy for the school’s state championship baseball team. After matriculating, he worked briefly for the city’s maintenance department, and played in American Legion Baseball during the summer, and gained second-team Super State honors. He then attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney where he played for the school’s team. After his freshman year, he transferred to the University’s Lincoln campus, and helped the Cornhuskers to win the 2005 College World Series.
Chamberlain joined the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft, and was selected by the New York Yankees as the 41st overall pick. During that season, he pitched in the Hawaiian winter league for the West Oahu Canfires, and continued to build his skills in the minor leagues, playing with the Single-A Advanced Tampa Yankees in the Florida State League, then the Double-A Trenton Thunder in the Eastern League. In 2007, he was promoted to the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barr.
Later in the year, Joba was promoted to the major leagues, joining the Yankees during the 2007 ALDS in a losing series against the Cleveland Indians. In the next season, he took a brief leave of absence after his father was hospitalized, but soon returned to the starting rotation and got his first career win as a starter. In 2009 he struggled and was demoted to the minor leagues, leaving him off the post-season roster. However, he was retained as a set-up role in the Yankees route to a 2009 World Series win. In 2011, he was then moved to a relief pitching role after it was noticed that his pitches were faster there. He was signed to a new one year contract the following year, which increased his net worth somewhat. He played during that season’s American League Division Series, but had to leave during the fourth game because of an injury.
During the 2014 season, Chamberlain was signed to the Detroit Tigers for a one year contract which increased his net worth even further, but was then released. He then signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays before opting out, then a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals, soon being promoted to the majors, and played during the 2015 World Series which the Royals would win, getting him his second World Series ring. He subsequently signed with the Cleveland Indians, and then with the Milwaukee Brewers for training, before eventually retiring.
For his personal life, it is known that Joba has a son who lives with his (unnamed) mother in Kansas City. Joba was arrested under suspicion of DUI in 2008 and was sentenced to probation.
