Brendan Rodgers Wiki Biography
Brendan Rodgers was born on 26 January 1973, in Carnlough, Northern Ireland UK, to Malachy and Christina, and is known as a soccer coach, manager and former player.
So just how rich is Brendan Rodgers as of late 2017? Authoritative sources estimate that Rodgers’ net worth is as high as $16 million, accumulated from his nine years long football playing career, and as a coach and manager since 2004.
Brendan attended the All Saints Catholic Primary School in Ballymena, then went on to St Patrick’s College. As a teenager, Rodgers was on the football team of Northern Ireland, playing in a game against Brazil in 1988 and representing the Republic of Ireland at a schoolboy level. Brendan’s career began at Ballymena United in 1987, where he played as a defender. In 1990 he signed a contract with English club Reading, and became their reserve player. However, his professional football career was ended shortly after, as a result of a genetic knee condition, although Brendan went on to play in non-league football. He decided to turn to coaching and subsequently spent a lot of time studying it. He was recruited by José Mourinho to join the Chelsea Academy and serve as their head youth coach in 2004. In 2006, he was promoted to reserve team manager. However, in 2008 Brendan left Chelsea to serve as the manager of Championship side Watford. The team improved their playing skills, such that in July 2010 he took the position of a manager of Championship side Swansea City. In the beginning of his first season, Brendan was successful, which resulted in him being awarded the Championship Manager of the Month Award, after Swansea scored five victories in six league games. Rodgers helped the team to the 2011 Championship Play-Offs, defeating Ipswich Town and then Nottingham Forest, his team eventually winning the championship.
Rodgers’ first victory as a Premier League manager happened in September 2011, in a game against West Bromwich Albion. Brendan then became the manager of Liverpool in June 2012, signing a three year contract after the team released Kenny Dalglish. Rodgers was named the Premier League Manager of the Month in August 2013, and again in March 2014, after Liverpool achieved 11 wins in a row and had chances to win the Premier League, however, the team lost against Chelsea. Overall, Liverpool scored 101 league goals in the 2013-14 season, and Brendan was awarded with LMA Manager of the Year Award.
In May 2014, he signed another five year contract with Liverpool. However, in 2016, he was released from the club, and has been the manager of Scottish Premiership champions Celtic since May 2016. He was originally supposed to serve as the manager for one year, but received a new four year contract in April 2017.
In his personal life, Brendan married Susan in 2001, but the couple divorced in 2015; they have a son Anton and daughter Mischa. In 2017 he married Charlotte Searle.
